The last debate before the January 3rd Iowa caucuses is being held tonight in Sioux City.
We get seven candidates at this debate: Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum and Jon Huntsman.
Fox's Bret Baier anchors the debate. Fox News panelists questioning the candidates: Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Neil Cavuto.
anyone listening to Caddell right now?? Did they rate Mitt?
correction anti-Newters
I’ll second that motion.
Someone needs to give him a sedative.
Gingrich just announced he'd pick apart Obama's speeches if he runs from debates and force his hand...old school politics.
Couldn’t happen to a more deserving CEO.......LOL
“Perry has already said he would ask Bolton to be his Sec’y of State.”
I know Newt said he would like Bolton to be Secretary of State. I did no know Perry also said that.
Newt kicked media butt.
Perry didn’t come across as a butt.
Bachmann kissed Romney’s butt.
Huntsman kissed major China butt.
Paul is a crazy old butt.
Santorum maybe needed to butt in.
Megyn Kelly? Get her butt off there.
Give it a rest.
It was an analogy about the under dog and having faith.
He said he would “like” to be the Tim Tebow of the party.
“Over 60 million people will be watching the debates next October. Ask yourself honestly, who do you want opposing Obama in those debates? Who is most likely to shred Obama to pieces?”
Simple. Wo does the MSM want? Don’t vote for him.
He referred to hoping for a Tim Tebow moment. He didn’t say this, but this is what I got out of what he said: hoping and praying for a 4th quarter miracle win.
Ron Paul: potato salad!
Mr Culture, if that is your real name (apropos, none other than Herr Hermann Goering (not running this year) is said to have said “When I hear the word “culture”, I reach for my gun.” (Actually, that was a line in a German stage play, wrongly attributed to lovable Hermie)), I haven’t heard anyone calling anyone “bitch”, and I’ll have to take your word for it, but I do think that these “debates”, that someone in today’s WSJ (Henninger?) accurately characterized as “mini-press conferences” for the candidates, deserve nothing better than comments about the excessive makeup (on the “bitch”, as it happened), the neck ties (one of them looked exactly like one I had 30 years ago or more) , lighting and stage decor, and other elements of the shoe, as Ed Sullivan might have put it, all of them as superficial as the contents of the mini-speeches we heard.
Newt on Fox recap stating he’ll stalk Obama and pick apart every speech he makes in every location until he agrees to a Lincoln-Douglas style debate.
Would love to watch Newt get all FREAKY on Obama.
“Bachman does very well when she isnt trashing other candidates.”
How would you know? I never hear her doing anything ELSE!
Perry said he wanted to be the Tim Tebow candidate (Win it at the end).
But he had some more gaffes again, including saying that the Monroe Doctrine was used against Cuba in the 1960s. Ugh.
FOX tried to shut Newt down, but he rose above them in spite of their effort and won anyway. (With one hand tied behind his back) He is the quintessential statesman and is absolutely Presidential. No matter how hard they tried to hinder that, they just made themselves look biased in the process.
I will never listen to a word Krauthhammer has to say ever again.
I didnt hear them rate Mitt. I find that odd. Newt got the highest rating but no mention of Mitt that I heard when they were rating the various candidates.
The last non-Establishment president was Reagan. Unfortunately, he was coerced to put an Establishment pick for VP, GHWB, and appoint many more in his administration. That's one reason he wasn't able to end the Dept of Education.
Still, he accomplished SO much - and got the ball rolling.
Newt worked with him and then in the '90's, brought in the highest number of new members of the House in history - and they took over the house for the first time in 40 years.
He balanced the budget 4 years in a row - not done for decades before and never since.
He has said he will not keep ONE holdover from the current regime - all czars fired the first day, Ben Bernake = fired, etc., AND he has said he'd like Col. West for his VP and Bolton for his SOS, and I have an idea he will tap Sarah to use her expertise to spearhead the Drill Here, Drill now. These are the kind of people he will appoint - far from being members of the Establishment.
This is why the Establishment is so frightened. They know with 8 years of Pres. Newt and then a probable 8 more years of non- Establishment people, that they will all be swept into the dustbin of history.
