We REALLY Do Not Know (who will be the GOP nominee, could be someone not in the race yet)
Weekly standard ^ | Bill kristol

Posted on 12/13/2011 7:28:51 PM PST by Bigtigermike

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote that we do not know who the GOP presidential nominee will be:

It could be Mitt Romney—though our warnings in this space a couple of weeks ago that his victory is by no means inevitable seem increasingly justified by the dynamics of the race.

The nominee could be Newt Gingrich—whose rise in the polls has been spectacular, and whose skills and appeal are still widely underestimated by many elites, including conservative elites

[....]

It could be someone not yet in the race. If the Gingrich surge turns into a Newt bubble, and if there continue s to be the present level of resistance to Romney, then anyone from Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin to Paul Ryan, Chris Christie, Mitch Daniels, Marco Rubio, or Jeb Bush—or someone else!

Let me repeat, with emphasis: We REALLY do not know who the GOP nominee will be.

or someone else!—could jump into the race, or be dragged into the race

I'm still hoping that Haley Barbour gets back in...

The point is, beltway jerkoffs like Boehner, Kristol, et al, are hoping to save their corrupt asses by finagling a brokered convention in which their handpicked dark horse will win out over the choice of the people. .

Maybe Ronald Reagan will rise from the grave, or his son, Ron, Jr, decides to pick up the mantle!

Yesterday evening, I came to this same conclusion. I was going to predict the nominee was not in the race at this time. I do think there’s a very good chance of it.

He can decide all he wants. It’s too heavy for him to pick up. ;^)

We must draft, nominate and elect Sarah Palin president in the most crushing tidal wave of enthusiastic good judgment ever seen in the history of this nation. With that one bold move we will accomplish the dual goals of seeing America led by the greatest natural born leader in our generation, even as we witness the final implosion and last agonized shrieks of our endlessly lying extreme left loonies. Their entire movement, from the fabricated attacks on Bush beginning with ‘Blood For Oil’ to the crammed-down-our-gullets lies of Obamacare and the Shovel Ready Stimulus, have been nothing but one vile deceit heaped upon another. Such an absolute inability to deal in the truth or to face the facts of our situation and its solutions only proves that there is simply no place at the grown-ups’ table for these diseased sputa. Good riddance to rubes and bad rubbish. Time to usher in the American Renaissance, carried in on the invigoratingly freshening breeze of President Sarah Palin.

I don’t pay much mind to Mr. Kristol, but one could safely conclude from his remarks that he is not happy about the Gingrich engines roaring into 2012.

She and hubby have been trying to sell a TV reality show - and have failed twice.

Palin is not getting into the race, please move on.

Leave the man alone.

None of us knows what Sarah Palin will (or will not) do, over the next couple of months. Likewise, we don't know what any of the other likely contenders will do, if it appears that the race is still unsettled by mid January.

The choices we have now are disappointing, to say the least. I don't blame anyone for holding out hope that a better, more deserving American will stand up and step into the race to challenge Obama.

“including conservative elites”

By definition... there can be no “elite” amongst true Conservatives. It goes against the very tenants of our ideology and being. We fought a war because of elites taxing us to death and controlling every single part of our lives... I find little billy to be highly insulting... how quite elitist of himself!
