Trouble for guys like Rod is, they are plump softies. This was the last thing this guy should have taking a chance on having happen to him.

It would seem they would probably put him in a place where he would be less likely to be exposed to the things you mention.

Of course, I have no way of knowing for sure.

He didn’t act alone, D1. I heard it straight from a Chicago Dem operative this morning on radio, he didn’t share the spoils as expected.

In this case it’s warranted. Blago is one arrogant SOB.

To be honest, I’m not sure he was successful in getting the spoils he sought. Perhaps I’m forgetting something, but he didn’t realize any gain as I understand it.

Jesse Jackson Jr. was in on this, too:

As Blago awaits sentence, trouble remains for Jesse Jackson Jr.

That was yesterday's headline, of course, but apparently a congressional ethics investigation of JJJr is pending. And it seems to me the FBI should be interested too.

Caught dead to rights, it had been my thought that this guy should have been contrite from day one, and sought a plea deal that would have spared him and his family from the full force of multiple penalties for multiple convictions.

I’ve never seen a guy try to manipulate public opinion like this guy did, and it was actually shocking how many big names allowed him to use them to manipulate that public opinion.

Yes, if anyone deserved to have the book thrown at them, this guy is the poster boy.

Every public figure that allowed themselves to be used, should be outed for it. They deserve to be seen as people who allowed this level of a crook to use them. Shameful.

Listened to talk radio on the way home. All claiming that maybe this will finally “send a message.” Probably not. Rod was just a stupid crook in a land of crooks. Too many crooks in government. Government is like a big business. They collect money and, after waste, fraud and abuse, pick winners and losers for what is left. Unlike business, they have no competition. They don’t produce anything. The money and power draw in the worst of the worst. And in one party states like Illinois, they have guaranteed jobs for life. Jail time won’t deter them. Only voters turning them out of office on a regular basis will help. They are like feudal kings and we are the serfs. With even the voting process suspect, there is little hope for anything changing.

He may. To be honest, I was shocked the guy was even brought up on charges.

I grew up in Chicago and it didn’t take long to learn that the politics in that city (and the whole state for that matter) are among the most corrupt in the nation.

Can't hold a candle to California for sheer magnitude. Ours is just more subtle because they package it as politically correct. Organized crime in Chicago is in your face. The difference in gangland is that they like flaunting it. Here, it's about power for money and only money.

I have wondered how serious a case of carpal tunnel syndrome Obama will develop on the way out the door.

Pardons for everyone! - well, almost everyone.
