I grew up in Chicago and it didn’t take long to learn that the politics in that city (and the whole state for that matter) are among the most corrupt in the nation.

Can't hold a candle to California for sheer magnitude. Ours is just more subtle because they package it as politically correct. Organized crime in Chicago is in your face. The difference in gangland is that they like flaunting it. Here, it's about power for money and only money.

I grew up in Hawaii and it’s government for the most part is incredibly corrupt. A democrat and union alamo. It’s a model of corruption. Not as violent as Chicago, but the ol boy democrat network is in full effect when it comes to who is allowed to run because in most cases, it’s always democrat vs. democrat in any election. Most state and fed reps, along with senators are usually in it for life.
City council, commissions like liquor. Everyone is on the take and looking to get their palms greased.
