Oh, yes, because Jesus believed in defecating on police cars, violently accosting Tea party members at a convention, doing drugs, raping women, and killing people.
Yes, the Occupy movement is JUST like Jesus preached.

This is the same person who says homosexual relationships are comparable to heterosexual marriage in the eyes of God.
And, it is peculiar how the author of this article, pretends ignorance and shows disdain for religious figures, when he drags the Catholic Church into this, when the Catholic Church teaches nothing of the sort.

Show me one instance where Jesus participated in a riot or demonstration equal to what is going on today. Never happened.

Are you kidding me? The OWS losers would’ve kicked Jesus out the moment he started preaching.
Yeah, I can just see them sitting around listening intently while he delivers their Sermon on the Mount
Give me a break.

Horse feathers. He would more likely be condemning the Anglican Church for distorting the Word of God rather than being part of the Occupy Movement.
Remember, there was a growing zealot movement to overthrow the Roman government, but also those in the Jewish community that wanted to appease their Roman rulers. So, they tried to trap Jesus by asking if it was lawful to pay their taxes. Jesus said, "Whose image is on the coin?" They said, "Caesar's." Jesus' reply? "Render under to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."
That doesn't sound like the occupy movement. That sounds like a man more concerned about man's duty to his God.

Jesus believed people should work. Also, if God was a liberal there would be 10 suggestions instead of The 10 commandments. BTW...the rich pay more than their fair share in taxes in the USA.

Ever get the feeling that Rowan Williams isnt totally confident in his own belief system?Unfortunately, I suspect that Rowan Williams is perfectly and snugly comfortable in his own belief system--it just has no connection to Christian orthodoxy.
For the modern relevancy-seeking, demythologizing deconstructionist, Jesus has had His significance erased, to become little more than a religious Rorschach blot into which (not "into Whom")one may read any significance necessary to justify the current media-driven frenzy into which Those Without Centers find themselves whipped, and which they mistake for a passion for the Kingdom of God--or, more precisely, hope that others will mistake for that passion.
An earlier poster remarked that "the Anglicans have lost it;" but it's a much sadder and more damning truth that the Anglicans have not just lost it, but have been throwing it away with both hands for some time now--at least, many of the professional clergy have been doing so, and seem to think that believe means I am currently of the opinion that this ought to be true.

Small wonder, he's Welsh anyhow. Back in the day they knew full well how to handle occupiers of the big house in Canterbury when they "acted up"
"What sluggards, what cowards have I brought up in my court, who care nothing for their allegiance to their lord. Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest."

Is the Most Reverend Archbishop certain that Jesus wouldn't instead be hobnobbing with folks at the nearest Inland Revenue office? Our Lord was given to eating with tax collectors, but I see no evidence in Holy Tradition, not the canonical Scriptures, nor the lives of saints contemporaneous with Our Lord's earthly ministry, that he had any propensity for supporting or even mingling with political movements of any sort.
