The success of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series is due largely to the fact that the story contains elements for sophisticated adults as well as teenagers. The latter can enjoy the magical creatures and battles between wizards, while older readers and viewers can relate to the very real historical events that apparently influenced Rowling's writing. The series' theme is anything but fictional because it happened once and it is happening again.
...Dolores Umbridge is among the more memorable villains of the series. She threatens to punish any student who talks about Voldemort, and she punishes Harry Potter for insisting that he has returned. Umbridge's real-world counterparts abound in European countries, universities, and even the U.S. Government. They punish or ridicule as an "Islamophobe" anybody who depicts militant Islam as a menace to Civilization. Danish Member of Parliament Jesper Langaballe for example pled guilty to hate speech for saying accurately that rape and honor killings are frequent among Muslim families. "Under Danish jurisprudence it is immaterial whether a statement is true or untrue. All that is needed for a conviction is that somebody feels offended."

ADL under Abraham Foxman = Antisemitism enabling and Denial League
William A. Levinson sees Voldemort as some kind of analog of Islam.
I wonder if J.K. Rowling does.
I wonder if any of her readers do.
Is this analogy all in the mind of William A. Levinson?
I fear the answer is “yes”.
Rowling based Voldemort explicitly on Hitler and not militant Islam. She also based Cornelius Fudge on Neville Chamberlain.
The denial of (1) Voldemort, (2) the menace of Nazism, and (3) the menace of militant Islam all have something in common, however.

It says that in the article.
If I had to guess, the mullahs have got to be laughing at ADL and their ilk, and see that kind of self-hating confusion as Allah keeping his purported promises to the world of Islam.
Seriously religious Jews (most Sephardim and modern Orthodox) rarely fall in with ADL, knowing they are kooks. They don’t need to be told that the mad mullahs are deadly serious. They know.
I never thought of it, but liberals are the very epitome of the Ministry of Magic while they are denying anything is wrong. Instead of facing the problem head on, they go out of their way to persecute anyone who is sounding the alarm.

Perhaps it is more likely that it is not than that it is, but this is not as important as your next question...
I wonder if any of her readers do.
Of coarse yes. I suspect a minority have thought it that way, but since there are millions of readers it would be silly to assume it had not occurred to any of them sine the analogy fits in some places.
Is this analogy all in the mind of William A. Levinson?
Of coarse No. Now it is in the minds of those that read his article, and has probably already occurred to minority of others without the aid of this article.
The question is then, will it occur to even more people if we are silent and do not name he who must not be named...or if we are not silent, nor second guess our own ability to influence others.

Rowling based Voldermort on Sauroman from the Lord of the Rings.
How Voldermort slowly gains his power and his form seems to have a striking resemblence to Lord of the rings and Rowling has shamelessly copied it.
