Presence itself is the problem.

Bullsh!t. It's creating a hybrid citizen status that will be used to grant the rights of US citizens to those with red cards.

Its a trojan horse to giving red card holders rights such as voting and more.

And it STILL does not address the millions who are already here illegally.

Only a moron or a liar is going to propose a “red card” second-class citizenship with a straight face.

Such an “apartheid” system (that's what it will be termed) would not stand up to Supreme Court review, and all of the red cards would soon be granted full citizenship.

Newt is no moron. So...this is just a politically sellable path to full amnesty.

Even more laughable is the premise that the US government will actually track red cards. They've already let the H1 visas get out of control, not to mention no enforcement of the existing immigration laws.

It's creating MORE government to deal with a problem whose simplest solution is to enforce the laws already in place.

"When your enemy is in the process of destroying himself, stay out of his way."

Notice how democrats are not jumping in to voice their opinions on the illegal/amnesty issue? They subscribe to the old adage "When your enemy is in the process of destroying himself, stay out of his way."

Democrats know that almost nothing will change no matter who is elected president. They are in ecstasy watching republicans and conservatives tear each other up over the illegal immigration issue.

But most of all, they are happy to see republicans get Hispanics inflamed over the issue once again.

My plan is simple and will be so effective that the largest percentage of illegals will self deport. It will be so efficient, that we will have a dearth of low skilled workers and will have to legally find a way to bring in more workers to replace some of the self-deported workers.

No E-Verify, no workee.
No E-Verify, no public assistance.
Allow states to use AZ style interior enforcement.

No police state, no national ID.

We don’t have to round up 12 million illegals. Just remove the magnet and make it difficult in every regard for them to remain in the country.

Newt is too clever by half. He has no principles, only ideas. Get lost Newt. Its time for beliefs not tactics.

There are plenty of legal teenage girls who would be giddy at the chance to deal with the “messier side of equestrian sports” for the same pay as the transients. Horse crazy teenage girls would probably be more dependable, and bring less baggage as well. I worked through and college as a barn girl, and you know what? If I weren’t a stay at home mom with little people who need me to be there, I’d happily be a barn “girl” again! One can’t find a better way to get quiet time to think than while mucking out stalls. Only thing better is sitting mare watch (waiting for her to go into labor).

< SARCASM > I like the red card program, make them wear it 24/7. Every year hunters, using non-lethal dart stun guns, could hunt them with a bad limit to cull the herd. Like on Wild Kingdom, remember that show? < /SARCASM >

Apparently, fixing illegal immigration is one of four choices: boot them all out, make them all legal, continue as we are now or do something that incorporates most or all of Gingrich's plan.

Regardless of having broken our immigration law (and you could make a case that we officially encourage them to do so), if that is the only law that's been broken and the person has become and since been an otherwise upstanding, law abiding, tax paying citizen and member of the community, there is no way our government is going to round that person up and ship them off to Mexico or wherever they came from.

Not only is that inhumane (flame away), there is not enough money available to pay for that sort of policy and certainly not the political will or support. It ain't gonna happen and if it did, would do more harm than good.

We did this to ourselves and now we need to be both smart and humane in fixing the damage. Like it or him or not, Gingrich has put together something that will do that and it starts with controlling the border. Make it so.

Based on epic volumes to the contrary, it’s amazing that anyone would think the Federal Government could competently oversee or operate a scheme like this.

There will be countless court cases that will be used by the liberal controlled judiciary to give everyone citizenship, never mind amnesty. This country is finished The oligarchy wants peasants to rule over an hey need to dilute the American population that believes in pesky things like the constitution and rights.

Dear Town Hall:

This piece needed some serious editing for run-on sentences. It took away from the author’s argument to have to sort out his syntax.

Please do not start down the same path of publishing bad or sub-par writing.

Thank you.
