Russia seems to be in confrontation with NATO on Syria.
NATO is backing Al-Qaeda again while Russia and Israel performing joint drills there.

Thanks cunning_fish. Russia's playing all sides against Turkey right now; when Pukin, er, Putin or his proxy makes the next foreign trip, it'll probably be a doozy, starting in the Balkans, from there to Greece, then Greek Cyprus, then Israel, Syria, Iraq, and winding up in Iran, with possible trips to Azerbaijan and Armenia.

That's all IMHO of course.

You are relying on News Agencies providing inaccurate information. There is no Israeli Russian exercises being conducted in the Mediterranean. Since the end of a Russian and Italian exercise there have been no Russian warships in the Mediterranean. The report comes from the Cypriot press that also reported the Russian aircraft carrier being currently in the Mediterranean. All the information in that report was complete nonsense.

During December 2011 and into 2012 the Russians Navy will conduct exercises with NATO. Many of the exercises with NATO and other countries involve search and rescue and anti piracy training. The Russians have announced their exercise schedule.
