You have every right to be cynical about Newt shutting the door first. I just hope you're wrong.

As I said before, the question is what’s the criteria for deportation and how do you handle those that can stay? Forcefully sending all 20 million men, women, and children back over the border won’t happen. If you think that, then tell me who is going to do it and exactly how.....really....

#1 I never said you were not a caring person. As far as I know you are probably a really great person.

#2 I also cannot say all the illegals are BAD people/sinners. As far as I know, there are probably some really great people among them too who want to do the right thing by their families and by America. That’s why I believe in taking them case by case (maybe on a state by state level).

#3 I did not mean for my “2 cents” to cause anyone to lose their patience. I enjoy a good conversation on the topics of the day but will end it when it upsets others. Sorry if anything I said came across as condescending.

To begin with the law of the 14th amendment must be interpreted for what it said and that was that slaves born in America were citizens and not this anchor babies amendment that the left has pushed upon the rest of us. Every one who came here illegally and had babies must be deported back to their homer country. period. This would end people coming here illegally and gaming the system.

If we need to be humane and that is the criteria for our immigration then let’s not stop at amnesty lets bring as many people as possible into this nation.

I find it an odd fit trying to equate the displacement of the American Indian with some relevance related to Northern European descendents vs Southern European descendents on the U.S. Mexican border.

The displacement of the American Indian is an interesting topic, but I am not convinced at some point it wouldn’t have taken place anyway, if not from the East by Northern Europeans then from the West by Southern Europeans.

As the global population expanded, it was probably only a matter of time before disease and the disbursement of humans across the surface of the Earth would have basically accomplished the same thing settlers in the U.S. did.

Perhaps I’m over-simplifying things, but you can look at the indigenous American Indian populations in Alaska, and see a dwindling of their numbers, even without a savage effort on our part to reign them in.

This is a complex topic. I’m not convinced we acted appropriately in all instances. I have some sorrow over some of what did take place. It would seem to me that it would be rather difficult to address all of it here in a short enough time frame to be completely relevant on this forum.

These guys never learn. This is exactly the kind of Newt we are going to get in the White House (though he isn’t going to be the nominee) and this is exactly what I feared. Why can’t these weak politicians just stick to enforcement? Our immigration policy is fair, it is not draconian. We can streamline legal immigration but the priority should be enforcement. The last thing we need is to blur this issue. The public is extremely clear and this is going to hurt Newt.

Your answer is well thought out and appreciate your honesty in the way you answered this.

There is only complexity of this issue because of man’s lack of ability to love others and respect the fact that the entire earth was open for everyone to live wherever one chooses too live.

It is only complex now because we have allowed greed to rule and we are now at a phase to protect the material things we have from others.

We are at the point were politics and laws can not solve this anywhere.

Newt is running as a vanity option.....he never expected to be in first place. This is/was all about setting up future cash earnings to keep the wife in jewlery & himself in ice cream & candy. He never thought he would find himself in first place. That’s why he blew himself up in the debate. He has no real interest in the job. Here’s the truth: 66 percent of Democrat voters are White and the majority of Independents are White. Minorities are concentrated in a handful of states like California, Illinois, and New York which are going to vote Democrat anyway. OTOH, states like Pennsylvania, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin are up for grabs, which are full of aging White voters that have turned sharply against Obama. But no, the great minds of the GOP like Newt Gingrich believe that Georgia needs amnesty for the illegals who live there can vote Democrat.

Your argument is sound. We don't know that Gingrich would allow them to vote, but even if his policy amounted to guest worker programs without voting rights, eventually voting rights would be added by some administration.

If Bush and Rove had got their way in 2007, Obama would be coasting to victory right now with millions of illegal aliens voting for him. Even worse if John McCain had been elected in 2008.

Naturalization takes longer than that. But I think 10 years down the road you would see the signs of the death of the USA, and 20 years after amnesty there would be no chance of a conservative POTUS. Overwhelming majorities of leftists would take over all 3 branches of government and make immigration policy and "distribute the wealth" even more generous.
