Hosted by the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute, the theme of tonight's Republican presidential debate is foreign policy and national security.
The debate is being held at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
CNN is carrying the debate live at 8 p.m. EST.
Participating candidates are: businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Reps. Ron Paul (TX) and Michele Bachmann (MN), former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and former Sen. Rick Santorum.
In the absence of a secure border, it sure solved Alabama's problem.
Gingrich promotes amnesty and these commies on CNN say he was great.
What a total fraud!
“A work visa is not amnesty.”
A work visa issued to someone that illegally invaded our nation....what do you call that?
“Bachmann is super smart. She would make a strong VP.”
Could you imagine a team of Bachmann and Palin? The libs would be jumping ou of windows.
At least his best is better that Paul's best!
I wish he would go back to the Libertarian Party where he belongs!
John King misrepresenting Cain's Syrian answer.
Newsies really want him out of the way.
Negative.
Alabama has bigtime issues.
The media is still promoting Mitt and Newt. They are the candidates the liberals want republicans to vote for. The one they are attacking the hardest is Herman Cain.
Vote for the one the liberals at CNN hate the most: Herman Cain.
A work visa issued to someone that illegally invaded our nation....what do you call that?
AMNESTY!
I missed a ZOT?
Crap!
Are you a US Citizen... are you preparing to “rise up” if your friends are deported?
Once you overlook any one crime, no matter how inconsequential, then you open floodgates to encourage other criminals.
I have observed Newt in action since Clinton era, and this dude is no core conservative by a long shot. But he is better than Barack Hussein. But then that is not saying much, is it?
Actually their export production mostly goes to Germany, Italy and one other European country. They produce about 400K barrels a day, very modest by mid east standards.
I had mistaken them for one of the other countries which has far fewer reserves but like I said, they are not a major player.
Syria earns 2/3 of its foreign exchange by exporting oil.
They're not big players...but it's important to them.
“I advise him to look up Syrias oil output”
See post #1,234.
Newt has some fantasy that Maldef and LaRaza are going to vote for him. Unbelievable arrogance.
Newt may be a draw, with Newt Gingrich. He may lose among the deporter crowd, but gain with those who like his thoughtful treatment of the immigration issue. There is simply no broad buzz out there that mass deportation is the solution for illegal workers, among moderates and Independents. These likely voters are for a thoughful strategy that includes border security and deporting criminal illegals, from what I read. Maybe that’s changed but I haven’t heard about it.
To the irrational purist, I bet you feel just this way. Tankfully, Americans, and especially American conservatives think more rationally than apparently you are capable of doing. You cannot and the nation will not deport every single illegal Mexican even if we could find them all in the next year or two while a sercure border is brought to operational. If someone ahs been here two deacdes, put down community roots n all the various ways we conservatives value for families, then these people are neighbors. A green card renewable VISA OR a choice to return to their country of origin and go through proper channels if they want to become legal citizens of the US of A is the only rational way to deal with the illegal immigration problem. BUT the border must be closed, and tight, for any plan to succeed. Democrats are going to demagogue the issues at every turn, to paint Republicans as heartless anti-Hispanics. You’re all in favor of helping the democrat, apparently.
With all the hanky panky that is going on, nothing could surprise me anymore.
(except Jim allowing all these liberal Nootsters to stink up this place)
