Hosted by the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute, the theme of tonight's Republican presidential debate is foreign policy and national security.
The debate is being held at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
CNN is carrying the debate live at 8 p.m. EST.
Participating candidates are: businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Reps. Ron Paul (TX) and Michele Bachmann (MN), former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and former Sen. Rick Santorum.
Somebody needs to lock up the crazy Uncle and his moonshine... he escaped again!
-—”what;s the difference between Newt and Obamas current stop deporting”-—
Several times, Newt explained that he was strongly in favor of deportation. He gave exceptions for otherwise law-abiding citizens who have long since established family roots here.
Nobody else on stage mentioned actual deportation but Michelle Bachmann.
I doubt it. Syria had to cut production due to US sanctions.
lol! He's been doing that for three years now.
If Ron Paul became President mind as well start digging our graves now. He basically says the Taliban is justified in killing us..CNN loves showing this guy so that people can think all Republicans are as insane as Paul is
It has some moments but overall it’s just FReepers taking their sides and having fun. (If it’s possible)
Perry did well on his answer regarding China as a threat.
I stand happilycorrected then!
Because it benefits Israel, and gives cover for a strike on Iran.
I would LOVE to send a bunch of them back. I am a minority in my American town. It’s not pleasant. I can’t speak Spanish so I feel like a foreigner being left out of the conversation. You have to live here to understand....
Kudos to Newt Gingrich. He made Mitt Romney look conservative by comparison tonight.
Anyone but Newt.
Ditto
HUMANE=Dont be heartless!
Newt blew it on the illegal immigration thing. Like Herman Cain said, let's enforce the current laws, secure the border and allow the states to take up any slack left by the Fed-gov. Otherwise, these conversations are moot and 300 illegals just crossed the border while I was typing.
Secondly, if, instantly, we had 10 million "legal" immigrants, we would have a situation that Israel had with so-called refugees only multiplied by a hundred. Talk about foreign agitation on a national level. Think la raza the size of godzilla.
Agreed on Paul. They give this kook way too much time.
Bust the big businesses that hire illegal aliens, like Tyson Foods, Cargill, and Swiftco, cut the welfare to illegal aliens, and shut down the Mexican Consulates, and most of them will leave on their own.
Cain has my vote, too.
Indeed, 90 seconds in the last debate was about 88 seconds too many.
Just go with the flow...
I believe the issue around running all illegals out of the country is mute and a waste of breath. Certainly it will not happen until the borders are secure, FIRST. By the time the border is secure perhaps a Republican will have deported the dangerous illegals and a conversation can begin on the working families who remain undocumented as what can be done.
