Hosted by the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute, the theme of tonight's Republican presidential debate is foreign policy and national security.
The debate is being held at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.
CNN is carrying the debate live at 8 p.m. EST.
Participating candidates are: businessman Herman Cain, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Speaker Newt Gingrich, Reps. Ron Paul (TX) and Michele Bachmann (MN), former Gov. Jon Huntsman, and former Sen. Rick Santorum.
Now all you Newtheads can see your boy is a total RINO!!! New Gingrich is NOT the answer. He is pro-amnesty.”
Bull.
Why would we even start letting entire families stay when they came in illegally? There must be millions of people-how much more can we take supporting these people with our tax dollars!
Herman Cain wants us to stop buying oil from Syria.
Do we buy any oil from Syria now?
Yet helps keep his Ag buddies in business by failing to enforce employment laws and eVerify.
Yes to all of that. And everyone who says securing the border is the most important issue: WRONG ANSWER.
The majority of illegals residing in the U.S. did NOT sneak in via the border. They overstayed visas.
So back to your points. Why are all the crimes by illegals not being addressed here? And, for that matter, the tremendous expense of birthing, feeding, clothing and educating their millions of KIDS???
It would be very difficult for me to vote for newt. My quality of life is greatly reduced in many ways due to illegals. This isn’t even America anymore. And newt thinks it’s ok because the person did it many years ago, and had kids??
the democrats and their media are the real racists.
I bet Obama could sell hacksaws in prison.
I’m a “Newt” supporter and disagree that he is for blanket amnesty ....
The reality is it’s obvious if this nations people and polititions cannot bring themselves to stop the muslim infilitration what makes you think the Hispanics will be sent home who aren’t threatening to kills us? It’s just not going to happen.
I agree totally! I am not a fan of Ron Paul at all - but one thing he said, about cutting the benefits to all illegals (if I heard him right) makes the best sense. Giving food stamps, welfare, subsidized housing, WIC, to illegals, is costing this country BILLIONS of dollars every year! (Not to mention the cost of those that are incarcerated!)
To be fair, Newt thought that the contract with America should be honored. His colleagues wanted to turn democratic pork into republican pork. The RINOs won and we are bankrupt, but that isn't Newt's fault.
Good answer by Cain on Syria. We don’t need to be policing Syria’s internal conflict! A no fly zone is a prelude to another Libya scenario.
He's stuck at 20-25% and we need to keep him there. :-)
Perrys tired...Here we go...
I remember the big raid in Postville Iowa and how it was covered by the media.
They interviewed the PRIEST who talked about how the community had just been “decimated” by the cruel crackdown.
And I thought...way to spin for pity while interviewing the guy who is really just upset because tithing is going to go down, but no one will put THOSE dots together.
Excellent question. I hope we’re not buying oil from Syria.
Cain was specifically asked about a no-fly zone over Syria.
He responds by talking about expanding the economy.
I have spent time in FL and Louisiana. Illegals from Mexico are overrunning the place. I am astounded at the numbers. I would say about 40M is about right.
We will soon have over 50% of the Mexican population here. It's insane.
Newton will see higher poll numbers with this immigration tutorial, and will not be eschewed by Hispanics, nor the rest of the national vote. He will continue to have his share of critics on FR, of course, but on this issue minds are not going to be changed among moderates and Independents who will be overwhelming in our primary and are not about to vote for a mass exodus of whole families and partial families treated as if they were drug runners and human trafficers. Few would be for that.
THAT is not what he said.
Perry was right..don’t even have a discussion on what to do with 11 million of illegals that Reagan also let in....
SECURE THE BORDER FIRST.
