In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Herman Cain said he supports the "right" for public employees to bargain collectively. In other words, he is in favor of unions on the taxpayer dime. Cain also said federal workers have unions, meaning the right to collectively bargain, but they do not.
On the issue of collective bargaining, Cain said he supported the right of public employees to bargain collectively.
"But not collective hijacking. What I mean by that, if they have gotten so much for so many years and it's going to bankrupt the state, I don't think that's good. It appears that in some instances, they really don't care."

As we all know, the SEIU, et al, represent a big piece of the Fifth Column in this country. I am very surprised that Cain supports these Marxist extortionists if that is the reality here. His past business ties probably play a big role in this...(?)
Cain sounds a little waffly on this. Not good.
The Postal Reorganization Act gave collective bargaining rights to Postal Employee Unions.
Time for Townhall to get up to speed on the law.
I’m a Cain supporter, but this is seriously disturbing. This could be enough to make me switch my support to Newt, although I’m not that comfortable with Newt either.
>> The Townhall folks keep coming up with this thing that federal workers don’t have the right to bargain through unions. >>
That may be true, but Townhall folks aren’t running for President. I don’t really care if they get it right or not. I am very concerned that the candidates on “our side” get it right however. And the right answer, as even FDR and George Meany would admit, is that public sector workers SHOULD NOT have the right to unionize.
did he really say that?
Can we believe any of the media outlets?
They cleaned them out. He recognized them.
You must want theCommies back eh?!
You tricky devils never give up.
Watch the video...
With all due respect, WTH are you talking about? If you support public unions, you are on the wrong website.

Cain on unions:
He is against the Employee Free Choice act (forced unionization) - (www.hermancain.com/ “Issues” , May 21, 2011)
He is against Card Check - (Political column, THE New Voice, “Card Check Lies” , Feb 9, 2009)
He supported Scott Walker and spoke at the rally this year - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijx6ryJtvII
His empowerment zones are right to work only - http://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport/2011/10/20/union-bosses-unleash-on-herman-cain-for-targeting-unions-sacred-cows/
He is also pro-Muslim
no he’s not.
I am aware of those positions. Very aware. But this is a strange position IMO.
His empowerment zones bug me.
And his reliance on the “Super Committee”
Roosevelt made a deal. You cited FDR as being against organization within public employee groups.
It's not that you lied about it ~ it's that times changed and real live Communists became a very real threat. The FBI couldn't get them out of the government agencies. Neither could the War Department or the Navy Department.
Non Communist federal employee union leaders came forward and did the job with fists, guns, harassment, intimidation, abuse ~ it was a regular war ~ and you want to turn your back on the deal?
You're nuts ~ you'll get Commies back in the government ~ they'll make the goons and thugs at SEIU look like pussy cats.
Anti-Communism is still an FR option the last time I looked.
I don’t like the empowerment zones particularly, but I like 999 overall. And I think you’re mistaken on his stance on the super committee..
I find your analysis insane and your connection of dots fanciful at best and absurd at worst.
FDR was philosophically against public sector unions for the same reason any sane person would be - that it puts the public servants in a position of negotiating AGAINST the tax payer which is simply an unsustainable and ludicrous position.
The idea that getting rid of public sector unions would strengthen communist influence on our government is one of the most ridiculous positions I’ve ever seen on FR.
You had probably best straighten out your thinking here. Joe McCarthy was not wrong.
