If you fail to distinguish between "right to strike" and "collective bargaining" you are not only on the wrong site, you are in the wrong country.

Roosevelt made a deal. You cited FDR as being against organization within public employee groups.

It's not that you lied about it ~ it's that times changed and real live Communists became a very real threat. The FBI couldn't get them out of the government agencies. Neither could the War Department or the Navy Department.

Non Communist federal employee union leaders came forward and did the job with fists, guns, harassment, intimidation, abuse ~ it was a regular war ~ and you want to turn your back on the deal?

You're nuts ~ you'll get Commies back in the government ~ they'll make the goons and thugs at SEIU look like pussy cats.

Anti-Communism is still an FR option the last time I looked.

I find your analysis insane and your connection of dots fanciful at best and absurd at worst.

FDR was philosophically against public sector unions for the same reason any sane person would be - that it puts the public servants in a position of negotiating AGAINST the tax payer which is simply an unsustainable and ludicrous position.

The idea that getting rid of public sector unions would strengthen communist influence on our government is one of the most ridiculous positions I’ve ever seen on FR.
