A last-ditch drive ends in disappointment for Penn State, which loses to Nebraska, 17-14. Not having any timeouts crippled the offense, which completed two passes short of a first down, including one with seconds left, but couldn't stop the clock.
This is a different Saturday in State College. Immediately after McGloin's final pass fell incomplete, the Penn State crowd cheered the team's effort: the cheering grew to a roar as the two teams again met a midfield, such as they did right before the game.
Again, as occurred several times during the game, there were chants of "We love JoePa." Interviewed after the game, interim coach Tom Bradley said that what Penn State has gone through over the last week is "unprecedented in the history of college sports."

Yes indeed.
It’s disgusting.
Be patient. He's going there, but there is the quaint custom of a trial first.
I wonder if Sandusky was still performing, in some capacity, as the defensive coordinator.
Paterno may have depended on Sandusky, thus giving Paterno another reason to protect him.
He made bail. I guess we can blame Paterno and the University for that as well.
I’d be stunned to see anyone outside of Happy Valley wearing any PSU merchandise for the foreseeable future.
By that logic, since it was the university administration that covered this up not one, but twice, All of Penn State should be burned to the ground.
“Hope the NCAA puts these basta*ds on probation.”
Max please! I hope the NCAA puts these child rapists out of the game for good! Really after this? Penn should never play again.
I don't know what was in his mind aside from the short private message he sent to me. It would be far more honorable of him to participate openly in this thread to attempt to defend his position.
There's also a quint custom called "adequate bail" which wasn't followed at all.

Strip him down, slap him up against the wall in the team shower - see if he loves you back.
"Nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
So Joe had to rely on a pedophile in order to have a chance at winning? I suspect that approach doesn’t do much to improve his image/appearance.
In the future it will be known as Ped State.
The others affected (won't use the word "victims") are today's players and students who will have to live with that moniker where ever they go. They will be tainted for many years and when they answer where they went to school a raised eyebrow will be seen on the questioner's face and they have to wonder what he is thinking.
That is an astute observation.
If I had a son or daughter going there, I would pull them out immediately.
But it is possible that this sort of thing is going on at every college in the country. Their results are the OWS Crowd.
It makes me so sad that decent hard-working Americans have mortgaged their futures to see their children transformed into amoral, soulless Marxist robots.
So true.
Last night, another FReeper Friend of mine wisely pointed out that all these Pedo State threads bring out the Rorschach Test here on FR.
I have to agree. Naive me. I foolishly believed that the condemnation of homosexual child rape -- and the condemnation of those who enabled it to happen -- would be universal here on Free Republic.
I've since discovered there is a dark, immoral contingent here (thankfully small) that thinks otherwise.
Disturbing.
Now I'll probably receive a hate email too for that. Lol.
They didn't get it before, which is why it was allowed to grow into such a monstrous thing. They still don't get it.
