In the CBS poll Newt is in second place, though tied with Romney. A view of the movement of numbers over four polls is telling:
2012 Republican Nomination for President
(among Republican primary voters)
Now 10/25 10/3 9/16
Cain 18 25 17 5
Romney 15 21 17 16
Gingrich 15 10 8 7
Perry 8 6 12 23
“Support for both Cain and Romney has declined since late last month, and Gingrich is the only one of the top three whose support is steadily if slowly on the upswing.”

Great news!!!!!!!!!!!! The more voters listen to Newt..what can I say? he is the absolute best. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/nov/10/once-written-off-gingrich-surges/
I’m ok with old. Churchill and Reagan were old.
I think an elder statesmen may be what the times call for.
Nope, Newt has executive experience and Cain tells jokes.
But, but, but, Cain is being HELPED by all the false, vicious attacks against him. All the other candidates should DROP OUT NOW and support HIM.
Go Newt! Can’t wait for the debate tomorrow...
Not that that line up did us any good. It was a major failure from day one, except for Palin. It’s a bit better this time with Cain and Newt.
The sheer number of debates is why we’re seeing Gingrich rise. I predict this trend to continue.
Sucks to be a Newt hater, huh? :-)
6) Cain has no executive or legislative experience, and therefore no conservative accomplishments to provide evidence that his words mean anything. He also has said a lot of stupid stuff, and his campaign has repeatedly made false charges based on incomplete evidence that he has had to track back.

Gingrich, who led the House in the mid-1990s, slammed the current House Budge Committee chairman’s spending blueprint as a “radical” step toward “right-wing social engineering.”
Less than 6 months ago folks!
[There is still plenty of time for a big shake up.]
Very true, just so it does not wind up like 2008!
Cain is not going to win the nomination.... surely you can see that? It will be Newt vs. Mitt... so take your pick. Newt is electrifying crowds wherever he speaks. He came through on his 1994 Contract. Read his 21st Century Contract. Is that not conservative enough for you?
Newt is unveiling a Contract with America that he will make good on. Is Cain really going to pass 999? What else does Cain have? This contest isn’t even going to be close.... Newt is going to run away with it on substance, and the prospects of his 7 Lincoln/Douglas debates w/ Obama.
I just looked at the schedule and Hominey and Runtsman are not confirmed for the Iowa debate on the 19th. If you were going to skip one, why that one?
Newt is a Professional Politician and a friend of the Democratic Liberals.
Herman Cain has Executive Wxperience and is inspirational.
I firmly believe events will shortly take control of this election cycle. Three huge events on the near horizon are Super Committee failure, Euro break up, Israel attack on Iranian nuke site. There are probably more coming too. And who knows what Obama has up his sleeve. The candidate that can deal best with the coming troubles will be the one to win the GOP nomination.
[What a crock, a poll bought and paid for with 300 people polled, newt is surging among his liberal friends.]
Not at all true; I just saw a poll on FOX that has Cain at 18%, Gingrich at 16% and Romney at 16%. (Still a large number undecided, of which category, grew after the Cain scandal began to increase..)
That's a matter of opinion. My point was there being enough time left for a big shake up to take place. Frankly, a political neophyte and a professional rhetorician is not my idea of presidential material. The 2011 field is no better then the 2008 field.
Take a look as his record after he got out of Congress.
Took up with the libs agenda.
All his debates go back to his “what I did single handily” 20 years ago.
What has he done lately?
Support global warming with Nancy Pelosi
Tag Tea Party as radical right-wingers for support the Ryan Plan
Gush over Hillary Clinton's accomplishments
I won't even get into his personal affairs.
