Rasmussen FL POLL (Cain 30%, Romney 24%, Gingrich 19%)
Rassmussen ^ | 11/9/11 | Rasmussen

Posted on 11/09/2011 10:23:29 AM PST by justsaynomore

As he continues to battle media coverage over past sexual harassment allegations, businessman Herman Cain leads other Republican hopefuls in the first Rasmussen Reports look at the GOP primary race in Florida.

The latest statewide telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary voters shows Cain with 30% support while former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney picks up 24% of the vote. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich draws support from 19% of Florida GOP voters with no other candidate picking up double-digits.

(Want a free daily e-mail update? If it's in the news, it's in our polls). Rasmussen Reports updates are also available on Twitter or Facebook.

This Florida survey of 788 Likely Republican Primary Voters was conducted on November 8, 2011 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Interesting about that Gardasil thing. I was asked to do an article about Gardasil and was rather shocked to see Perry in TX of all things pushing it. CA, I could see, but TX? What a millstone! Why did he do that? I don’t understand.

Agree wholeheartedly with your statement that Perry didn’t do much which is part of what made him a good governor. Rather then getting in the way, he let Texas’s natural advantages come into play.

That’s the point that I’ve been making forever. A liberal pushing this would make sense, but Perry??? Either he really is a liberal at ‘heart’, which really may be the case here...or he was bought. I hope he was simply bought, because eventually the FBI will sting him and take him down.

But if his ‘heart’ was really in it, for the poor girls, then I worry much, much more...simply because he cannot be trusted on anything.

See my post #106 after I had been corrected:

“Oh Jeez!!! You are totally correct. These creeps started Americans for Herman Cain and NOT Friends of herman Cain!

SORRY!!! how embarrassing! But also how good to know that I CAN just go there and give money.

THANK YOU FOR SETTING ME STRAIGHT BEFORE I EMBARRASED MYSELF FURTHER.”

So your info is solid and good. I was going crazy trying to figure out which site (there are several) might be the “real one” and the address you gave is exactly the right one. I apologize for my mistake on the name. I’m going to send money tomorrow AM.

Remember folks, the FL primary is 1/31 and it is winner take all. If Mr Cain can hold this lead, it is huge.

Palin has plenty of backbone.

The difference is that Palin is on a rising track, while Cain is writing the closing chapter to a successful life.

Their strengths lie in different areas.

I just can’t believe the support for Cain. Are we just going to give BHO another four years? Cain has a very rough time getting his point across..articulate he’s not. He would be a huge mistake. I’m with Newt...Cain would be a kick in the gut.

Actually he is articulate, he gets his point across very clearly and in a way people can understand. You do realize he had a radio show on WSB in Atlanta - 2 hours a night, 5 nights a week?.

I suggest you listen to his speeches and entire interviews, rather than 30 second sound bytes by the media. The media could do that to ANY candidate to make them look bad.

He is not a walking encyclopedia like Gingrich (who is?) but he connects with people better, he has a broader appeal, he sells himself better and he is a very convincing leader. Newt talks over the average person’s head.

Newt talks over the average person’s head.

Newt doesn't talk over my head, he is another RINO idiot who is trying to hide that from you. The only way I would vote for him is Obama vs. Newt, then I'll hold my nose. Same with Romney.

I have heard Herman Cain speck several times, thank you. I was shocked he was the CEO of anything. He is far from articulate...I recommend you listen with both ears next time he speaks. He’s foolish and it would be foolish for him to get the nomination. He has some cute soundbites...”999” and awesome spot with his campaign manager lighting up. I do believe him when he said he didn’t sexual harass the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th...the 5th? I’m having trouble with. Newt’s the clear choice. Go BC!

A Summary Of Herman Cain’s BIO

* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.

* Master’s degree in Computer Science.

* Mathematician for the Navy, where he worked on missile ballistics (making him a rocket scientist).

* Computer systems analyst for Coca-Cola.

* VP of Corporate Data Systems and Services for Pillsbury (this is the top of the ladder in the computer world, being in charge of information systems for a major corporation).

All achieved before reaching the age of 35. Since he reached the top of the information systems world, he changed careers!

* Business Manager. Took charge of Pillsbury’s 400 Burger King restaurants in the Philadelphia area, which were the company’s poorest performers in the country.

He spent the first nine months learning the business from the ground up, cooking hamburger and yes, cleaning toilets. After three years he had turned them into the company’s best performers.

* Godfather’s Pizza CEO. Was asked by Pillsbury to take charge of their Godfather’s Pizza chain (which was on the verge of bankruptcy). He made it profitable in 14 months.

* In 1988 he led a buyout of the Godfather’s Pizza chain from Pillsbury. He was now the owner of a restaurant chain. Again he reached the top of the ladder of another industry.

* He was also chairman of the National Restaurant Association during this time. This is a group that interacts with government on behalf of the restaurant industry, and it gave him political experience from the non-politician side.

Having reached the top of a second industry, he changed careers again!

* Adviser to the Federal Reserve System. Herman Cain went to work for the Federal Reserve Banking System advising them on how monetary policy changes would affect American businesses.

* Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. He worked his way up to the chairmanship of a regional Federal Reserve Bank. This is only one step below the chairmanship of the entire Federal Reserve System (the top banking position in the country). This position allowed him to see how monetary policy is made from the inside, and understand the political forces that impact the monetary system.

After reaching the top of the banking industry, he changed careers for a fourth time!

* Writer and public speaker. He then started to write and speak on leadership. His books include “Speak as a Leader”, “CEO of Self”, “Leadership is Common Sense”, and “They Think You’re Stupid”.

* Radio Host. Around 2007—after a remarkable 40-year career—he started hosting a radio show on WSB in Atlanta (the largest talk radio station in the country).

in an attempt for the public to take notice of the impending scandal about to hit the white house with the election of herman cain, gloria allred has brought all the accusers together for one big press conference. this presser will be held in the nude so that the vast majority of the public will tune in.

I have a theory on the Gardasil thing. At the time Tx was building and funding a huge medical/cancer/bioresearch complex.

Perry was wooing Harvard’s top talent who was also a Gardasil developer. I think he was trying to demonstrate that TX would be the right place to move with his research.

Say what you will but Gardasil is the first anti-cancer vaccine. People are all hung up on the STD component and missing the forest for the trees.

Perry was putting Tx ahead of 49 other states in a very promising area of medical research. Crazy like a fox. Unfortunately he’s a hamhanded, inarticulate one.
