Why would Paterno need to leave if he had nothing to do with the scandal?

Good, that dirtbag never reported this monster to the Police. Hopefully he also never gets honored for his coaching wins, since he’s rendered them meaningless by turning a blind eye to that monster.

Ohio State has the Woody Hayes Athletic Center in spite of punching Clemson's Charlie Bauman in the 1978 Gator Bowl. While his storied coaching career was tarnished by that incident, his name appears on campus and his reputation has been repaired to some extent.

Whither Joe Paterno? Will his name be scrubbed from the library on campus?

Paterno knew this vile scumbag was raping boys in the shower and did nothing. Apparently putting butts in the stadium seats is more important.

It is unfathomable that this happened almost ten years ago, yet no one questioned why Sandusky was still around the program.

As a college football fan, I've had a tremendous respect for JoePa. It is inexplicable.

Paterno shares blame here, but the PSU administration was notified by Paterno and they tried to cover this up. If Paterno is the only one to pay then no justice has been done. Having said that, someone like Joe could have taken on the PSU admin (had he wanted) and won given his national standing.

I just hope everyone involved in this coverup eventually pays the price.

"... According to grand jury evidence, Sandusky told the mother of Victim One: "I understand. I was wrong. I wish I could get forgiveness. I know I won’t get it from you. I wish I were dead."

So, what's stopping you, Sandusky?

Just don't use a gun, please. Gas yourself in your closed garage while sitting inside your running SUV, or go up into the forest and drink a gallon jug of Prestone® anti-freeze.

Paterno should be booger-hooked out of Penn State. I thought coaches were supposed to instill character in their players. Guess that old fart never really understood what the meant in all of his 46 years as coach.

“....the man who has more victories than any other coach at college football’s top level....”

.
He would not have had that title if Penn State had competed more against SEC teams.

Just one of the reasons that I hope my granddaughter gets a sports scholarship. She’s got brains, a great personality and works hard...5th in her class of 500.

Read the grand jury report:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2804362/posts

It's pretty clear that by 1998 everyone, including Paterno, knew that Sandusky was a pedophile, and it lead to Sandusky’s “retirement” in 1999.

I used to have the utmost admiration for Paterno.
But he should have retired years ago.
When it became obvious he was clinging on to get the ‘most wins’ title my admiration took a hit.
If he was sure of this event he should have taken whatever required to get legal action .
On top of that the university allows Sandusky access to their facilities??

Not discussed in here is the little mystery connected to Ray Gricar who served as the district attorney for Pennsylvania's Centre County in 1998 and would not file charges on Sandusky. Sandusky retired in 1999.

Then there is the 2002 incident. Gricar disappears in 2005. The HD to his laptop is found in the river.

I'm waiting for the Penn State Administration to blame this buggery on global warming.

Question:

Which came first, being gay, or being a pedophile.

Most people think these are two different things, but they are now more different than an hetero prefering young women.

How does that expression go again?

Grass on the infield, play ball!

Sorry to be so crass, but what irks me is the idea of outrage toward this man Sandusky. This is normative behavior, after all, being gay. That he’s attracted to ten year olds, well that’s a matter for his therapist, but the gay part is A-OK in everybody’s book in the new millenium.

That a 10 year old was in proximity to a shower on campus is a matter for parents I would guess.

To quote Woody Allen, “The heart wants what it does.”

Don’t know what Paterno was thinking. I don’t think we know everything at this point.
