Ohio State has the Woody Hayes Athletic Center in spite of punching Clemson's Charlie Bauman in the 1978 Gator Bowl. While his storied coaching career was tarnished by that incident, his name appears on campus and his reputation has been repaired to some extent.
Whither Joe Paterno? Will his name be scrubbed from the library on campus?

Woody Hayes merely demonstrated poor sportmanship. The two incidents are in no way comparable. Not even close.

While his storied coaching career was tarnished by that incident, his name appears on campus and his reputation has been repaired to some extent.As it should have been...Hayes was one of the greatest coaches of all time, and I say that as somebody who grew up as a diehard Michigan fan.
