Johnny Maestro and his group,
The Brooklyn Bridge, recorded an album, titled
The Brooklyn Bridge, that sported a number of Jimmy Webb songs.
Requiem: 820 Latham
Maestro had a great voice, but this song doesnt show it off as well as it should. If anything, it sounds even more pretentious than the Fifth Dimension version.
The Worst That Could Happen
This is where Maestros voice really makes the song. This was the first release of this early Webb tune on a single, and it sold very well. Its a worthy competitor to the Fifth Dimension original.

I wish, we are at a TEA Party Patriots conference. Nice being around the same kind of thinking people instead of in NY where everyone fights us. : )

That will be played at my wedding, if I can get my girlfriend to put up with me until my daughters graduate high school. Yeah, I know that sounds weird.

Thanks! I knew they did it...I just like the other version as it has been played on the tv show “Roselli and Isles”. :)

The Love Generation, a kind of pale imitation of the Lettermen, recorded for the Liberty family of labels. It was probably no more than a walk down the hall to get them to record this Webb number from a movie soundtrack he had written.
The Love Generation: Montage from How Sweet it Is
Note the quote from Up, Up and Away at the end.

I always loved the ending of this song. A perfect D Major ending.

There is a famous story about when Jimmy Webb first met Glen Campbell. When Webb arrived at the recording session, Campbell looked up from his guitar, saw Webbs shoulder-length hair and said, Get a haircut. Campbell was probably nicer after this song made him rich.

One of THE most romantic songs ever recorded, IMHO.

Bette Midler’s version was a copy of the Mamas and Papas version, both of which did a slow treatment of the song.

LUV being back, y'al make me feel so at home! This one may feel cheezy to some, but this is me, I really love this song and the next, they really describe me.

She just blows me away with the song.
Her voice is just incredible.
Too bad she’s a left wing moonbat.
