I consider this to be sexual harassment perpetrated upon Mr. Sakorsky!

I wonder id Politico will publish 90 articles about it?

This President doesn’t understand America.

Well I must admit it does help to be an American.

Normally I wouldn't care what the French think about us.

However, the French media response to this incident may show that President Obama has worn out his welcome even in places that are almost reflexively anti-American.

That is a sign of how bad President Obama has fouled things up.

It says more than that, however. President Obama’s comment is inappropriate because President Sarkozy’s wife **IS** very attractive, and men who want to be polite are not supposed to be commenting in public on the physical appearance of the wives of other men unless they don't mind people considering their comments to be a verbal leer. Maybe that's not going to be offensive in a locker room between athletes (”Hey, Joe... you got the hot cheerleader to date you!”) but it has a high risk of giving offense virtually anywhere else, and it is totally inappropriate in a professional context, let alone between international leaders.

The only good thing is this French uproar may remind people that Herman Cain isn't the only one who may or may not have made inappropriate comments about the appearance of other women.

Even though that’s hilariously funny, it’s hard to imagine anyone culturally American making a slip like that.

The Organisation of the Islamic Conference has 57 states... Just a normal mix up from our "American, natural born" President.

Correct. It is too familiar and too casual.

That’s a good point. I wonder if they released any details? The last one I specifically remember omitted all the particulars, and consisted of a brief overview only. But you know how it is. If you want more information...you’re racist. ;)

“Easily offended” French thread slams into “Anti-Obama” politics thread on FR. Film at 11.

I don't know.

That's the type of thing someone jokes to a good friend, in a personal situation. For instance, I can't imagine Ronald Reagan saying that to Brian Muroney publicly at the G7 way back when. It's just not done at that level.

It's one thing if the POTUS pisses the world off by challenging them to 'tear down this wall', it's another thing when the President of the US treats the whole Western World with contempt on purpose, in order to....?

I hope you're doing well. We are getting ready for winter here. Nice to see you.

• UK- check! Kept talking at banquet fir Queen Elizabeth II during their national anthem
• France-check! See above posts
• Tibet-check! Refused to have pictures taken with Dalai Lama
There must be some we left out!

Apparently, both he and Rahm Emanuel were regulars at a club called Man's Country in Chicago, a club for and about men. Google it for further info. How the leftist media does protect him....them.

When choosing a wife, choose wisely.

I'm not sure if M. Sarkozy chose wisely ... Mme. Bruni-Sarkozy is certainly attractive, but there are issues.

OTOH, it is abundantly clear the Mr. 0bama chose poorly.

Very poorly.

I think that tete de merde would be a better translation ... not sure, though, if the Frogs use that insult. Quite sure they have something equivalent.

Do we have any allies he has not insulted?

I can't think of one.

I think this makes a perfect set.

I'm fairly sure this isn't the first time Zero has insulted the France and/or the French.

Sarkozy should’ve told Obama that his seconds would call on him at dawn.

Which would be totally lost on the Chicago street punk. Besides, M. Sarkozy should not sully *his* honor in meeting said punk on "the field of honor", as said street punk most likely couldn't even spell the word "honor" let alone be possessed of even one molecule of the quality...

I'm reminded of the quaint French word "crapaud", which *is* insulting in French. Whether or not it means what it sounds like in English is another matter...

Le crapaud is a toad. Yes, it's insulting when applied to people ... but not on the order of "shithead".
