I checked...that he didn't even know that the claims had been settled. To me, that's surprising. That will be verified.

Not necessarily. Think about it: He's a CEO and head of this professional organization, he's gotta have a whole law firm on retainer to deal with every day legal issues that inevitably arise when you reach that level of corporate power. If they had his power of attorney, it's possible he just told them to "DEAL WITH THIS" and they did. The fact that no further actions were taken against him seems to give testament that the job was accomplished as requested. He doesn't need to know the outcome of every little thing his legal team does for him.

How about Perry’s skeletons that he was running around with gay escorts in the 1980s? Let’s dig those up. Oh those unsubstantiated rumors don’t count, only stuff against Cain.

Get the hell lost. The Admin’s here should ban your ass!

It is curious that he didn’t seem to know much about the allegations nor how they were resolved. I have no experience to draw on, it’s hard for me to imagine myself not knowing if I were to be in that situation. I’d certainly want to know as much about it as possible. On the other hand, it could be routine, just part of the background noise of day-to-day operations for the head of a trade association.

I’ve been here longer than you.

Wow, you've been a Freeper 3 weeks longer than I have. That must make your opinions more important than mine.

Anyone who plays the "I've been a Freeper longer than you" card only uses it when they can't debate on the merits of an issue.

He was with the NRA for 2-3 years (late ‘96 to mid ‘99) and had other Board positions with different entities.

Perhaps the charges were brought shortly before, or after he left. If he was notified, questioned and felt exonerated - the charges were no longer on his radar.

Human Resources and their lawyers make the decision(s) whether to settle or go to court - not the individual executive(s) unless the CEO owns the company. NRA is an association.

You oppose Perry because you want girls to die from cancer.

That statement was said to me and it was not because I opposed Rick Perry but because I opposed his nanny-state Gardasil EO. So using the posters' 'logic', the poster must think the members of the Texas state legislature who overturned Perry's nanny-state EO also want "Texas females to die of cancer".

I oppose Rick Perry and can do so w/o relying on such abrasive language. Some Perry supporters, however, clearly play by their own rules.

Cain supporters don’t act that way.

Well, let's be honest, MOST Cain supporters don’t act the way I posted about, just like MOST Perry supporters don’t act the way you posted about. We'll find idiots in any group (just fewer since we're not liberals!). I get carried away sometimes myself, but I usually try to stick to the issues. Don't always succeed, but it's a good goal to strive for. Have a good one, esp. if you're taking any kiddos out for treats.

Hey, y’know, I’ve tried (and so have many others) to persuade folks away from Perry’s candidacy (or Willard’s) utilizing facts and other points. I mean, it’s not like this is a general discussion group from across the political spectrum, it’s a Conservative forum. You’d think on such a forum that a candidate with tendencies that go against those goals would be summarily dismissed, and for the most part, he has been here. Unfortunately, some can’t let it go and lash out in very ugly ways. Always the danger of getting too emotionally attached to a candidate (as many former Palin supporters did, and I was one, it was a big letdown).

Yeah, and at that point, politeness goes out the window and a tart retort of “cut the crap” is well deserved. I guarantee that in all the root discussions, we’re not the ones that begat the hostilities.

"Can we rule out the Cain campaign yet? It would be beneficial to them get the story out today and let it pass, rather it come out in 6 weeks."

An interesting conjecture but pretty much eliminated by the deer-in-the-headlights look on his face after Meet the Depressed. Not that I read anything into that other than it wasn't an attempt at self-innoculation by the campaign / another out-of-the-cigarette-box idea from Campaign Mgr. Marlboro Man...

Look, I am a Perry supporter, because while I disagree with some of his positions (particularly immigration), he’s a strong 2A, pro-life guy. I have my problems with Cain’s tax plan and some other positions, and I truly believe that some of the things he’s said or proposed will come back to bite him during the general election, but I’ll vote for him in a heartbeat over Obama. Looking back, I’d probably change some of the things I’ve said here — I can be a pretty confrontational guy when arguing a point, but I don’t think I really hold any ill will to any Cain supporters here. If my guy loses the primary, I may be disappointed, but it’s not like it’s a personal loss. And if nothing else, and I think South40 said this, Perry’s candidacy may actually lead to the repeal of the stupid in-state tuition thing, which is a win in my book.

Several Perry threads were posted today. Go to any one of them and you will see the vultures who just hover waiting for a Perry thread to be posted so they can make their juvenile and mindless comments

Went there, carefully looked, couldn't find anythng venomous, or really anything juvenile either.

Just a whole bunch of truth about Perry's enticing illegals to break into our country.

This is a good site to watch video of Cain answering many questions for those who really are interested in getting to know this man.

For those who are only interested in bashing.... never mind.

Your post was great, DTxAg and to the point.

“He knows they won’t let him put this to bed today.”

Not today, tommorrow, or any other day. The media hounded Bush for 8 years about being a “draft dodger.” The media has sunk it’s teeth into this sexual harassment allegation and it will not let go. Ever. CNN’s David Gergen said Cain needs to talk straight about this, and then in the same breath said that no matter what Cain says, he will only dig himself a deeper hole and make himself look even more guilty. And the CNN “journalist” interviewing Gergen was literally smiling about this.

Now we have to wait for the 2nd shoe to drop, because I’m sure Politico hasn’t revealed all it has, yet.

“Interesting, Cain’s campaign being hit by various allegations of both personal and financial misconduct, now that he’s ahead of Mitt Romney, isn’t it.”

Yup. We all know the libs would NEVER stoop to something like this, so it has to be a Republican behind it. By the way, did you know the moon landings were faked and Elvis is still alive?

No wonder you weren’t offended. You’re one of them.

Goodbye and good luck.

Again, If you are only here to Bash Cain, don’t bother your self with facts about him.

You're about as full of crap as an overweight Holstein.

Perry supporters HAVE NEVER posted a derogatory photo of Cain in any manner. Meanwhile, you can't find a Perry thread without the same convoy of creeps lurking and laughing, posting pictures of explosions and trainwrecks, forks stuck in him, ridiculing his WIFE, you name it.

Crock of crap
