This song and video, written, performed, and recorded by fellow FReeper "Quill Pen", is a tribute to America and those who risk their lives to keep America free.
From the chorus:
It's A Free Country, where dreams come trueI encourage you to check the song video out on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOx9GOmdqhA
'Cause once you've tasted freedom, a cage will never do.
It's A Free Country, as long as we live and breath
So don't tread on me, no, don't tread on me
It's A Free Country.
She’s great and she also sings blues.
Thanks for the ping to the list!
FreeRepublic's Apple fans may be interested to know that she did this video on a 2007-era Intel Mac Mini, using iMovie 11. The raw video of her singing and playing was shot by yours truly using a Flip Video HD handheld, and imported into iMovie, where the title text was added and the post-processing was done prior to upload to YouTube. The final audio tracks were done mostly in Quill Pen's home studio; the soundtrack used in the iMovie final product is her CD mix.
iMovie 11 is amazing. She's done CD recordings for many years, but this was her first foray into a home-produced video.
Thanks Swordmaker.

Wow!! Thanks for listening to my song, and passing it along!!! I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
After many years of using Windows I’m back on a Mac, and I’ll never go back! Thanks to iMovie and Mac this video was made possible!!!
It means so much to me that you passed my song on to others!
My goal is for all of America to hear this song, to remind us how fortunate we are to live in this Great Nation!!!
Thanks!
I also like your profile page describing true meaning of Conservatism.
My pleasure.
That was a terrific comment!!! Every time I sing that song I will remember your new lyrics!!!!
I’m so happy your wife loves my music!!! Thanks for listening!
Love the song, like the voice. Pretty girl, but the costume needs some work.
I don't think I've ever heard of there. But according to Google Maps I've been mighty close -- I've gone out to Darien Lakes park lots of times with my daughter to ride the roller coasters. And if instead of turning south from the thruway, I had turned north, I'd have been in Alabama!
"Whod'a thunk it?" :)
‘breath’ should be ‘breathe’ (probably not the lyricist’s mistake)
Yep, that was my error, typing the lyrics by hand.
