ANTAKYA, Turkey Once one of Syrias closest allies, Turkey is hosting an armed opposition group waging an insurgency against the government of President Bashar al-Assad, providing shelter to the commander and dozens of members of the group, the Free Syrian Army, and allowing them to orchestrate attacks across the border from inside a camp guarded by the Turkish military.

This could easily spark a Turkey-Syria war.
Yep. Just yesterday the Syrian Free Army took claim for an attack on a Syrian military convoy that killed 11 soldiers, including a senior officer. And now a day later, there is pretty much a flat out admission that the Turkish military is sheltering the Syrian Free Army - no bueno.

Not with Assad’s 4th Armor Brigade and the Republican Guard running around the country trying to quell the protests. From what I’ve read, Assad is using his best and most loyal forces (4th Armored/RG) to try and keep the nationwide protests in check and he is keeping the rest of his forces (primarily Sunnis) in the barracks for fear they may bolt and join the protestors.
The danger is that once a nation develops an appetite for this type of adventure it usually takes more, and more, and more...

the answer is simple- Turkey got support from Obama!
dont be so sure....
Btw... what side will Israel give its support?
Thanks jhpigott.
the devil that they know is Assad.
Turkeys Kurds have every interest in destabilizing Syria.
