I don’t see Syria winning that one though.
Not with Assad’s 4th Armor Brigade and the Republican Guard running around the country trying to quell the protests. From what I’ve read, Assad is using his best and most loyal forces (4th Armored/RG) to try and keep the nationwide protests in check and he is keeping the rest of his forces (primarily Sunnis) in the barracks for fear they may bolt and join the protestors.
