CALL YOUR CONGRESSMEN. Ask them to explain to you, where, exactly in the Constitution is the President authorized to shut down all TV & Radio broadcasts nationwide, for ANY reason. Then inform them that the Barack Hussein Obama Regime can be trusted least of all men who have lived in the White House, with such UNCONSTITUTIONAL POWERS! Then insist that they sponsor legislation to revoke this UNCONSTITUTIONAL POWER!
Here's the Blaze with the story:
It violates the McNuggets amendment!!!
This needs to be stopped. The freedom of communication via cell, internet or even TV should not be allowed to be taken away by the government under any circumstances.
The states cooperate with the federal on many things on a voluntary basis. I cannot imagine any state bringing suit to block participation in a national public safety exercise. After all, national defense is a major reason we have a federal system in the first place, is it not?
I am old enough to remember these kinds of tests being conducted during the cold war, a long blast of an irritating tone, followed by the usual “if this had been a real emergency ...” message. In fact, I knew a disk jockey who lost his job by jokingly revising the message as “if this had been a real emergency, y’all would’ve been blown to bits by now.” Some people just have no sense of humor.
Nine Megatons worth of Big Bang.
My time on Titan II Combat Crew was possibly the best time in my 20 year career.
Why not run the test at 2AM? It is a test no? That way if Barky comes on, few will hear him or need to tune him out.
9MGs eh...sounds like that was the size of the largest bang one of those suckers could produce from what I gather. Titans were liquid fueled were they not??
Warning shot big time.
This from the gang that believes in never let a crisis go to waste.
This is just preparing for the crisis that they will create.
This gang will not let go of their power easily.
Even when they are defeated in the next election.
“It is just the warning shot”
I agree. This is just the start.
Boy is that an exaggeration.
It's not an exaggeration, it's just a defamation of character lie and I'm telling you offduty that you are a cheap liar. He explained how the system works, he explained what they were going to do, he said it was only for 3.5 minutes and said that even FEMA wasn't sure what would be displayed on the TV.
I spent my last seven and a half years flying the ALCS bird. That would qualify me as bus driver for the coneheads in the back of the plane. Aircraft now resides in the air museum at Ellsworth AFB.
.and speaking of big bangs, I was thinking more of the Titan coming out of the hole, I don’t think anyone near enough to possibly “hear” the explosion on the mission end of the flight would be around to tell about it.
This is the first ever NATIONAL test of the Emergency Alert System. There have been many Monthly tests of local and state areas.
The Monthly tests rotate between day and night.
In advance of the National test, FEMA and the FCC conducted simulation tests in Alaska and Nevada.
Unlike the Monthly tests, which are limited to two minutes maximum, the National test, sent with the EAN, Emergency Action Notification, code has no fixed time limit.
The EAN is expected to be about 3.5 minutes long. The aural portion of the test will say that it is a test.
However, for television stations, the automatically generated video crawl, will not. It will say something like: A Emergency Action Notification has been issued for Washington DC..... Which is why television stations need to be on the alert to under cut a slide indicating TEST.
This test is in the day time so that engineers can observe and report on the system, to learn what went wrong so it can be fixed.
And, if it goes bad, the unit that takes over the air chain can be unplugged.

That’s great. Who took your photo?
Your mom, she was worried about you.
You have my sympathy. My mom’s a vindictive woman.
What’s the grounds for this “shut down” claim?
There’s a coordinated voluntary compliance with an organizational process for testing getting a warning message out - that’s fine, and a reasonable activity for the FCC to coordinate (hey, if something big enough to warrant contacting everyone is needed, nice to have the protocol in place).
There is NOTHING indicating a “shut down”. There is no master switch, nothing is being shut off. Pure hysteria.
I don’t even know that it does, I just feel that it is a psychological thing. There is no reason that the stations can’t do this in a staggered manner.
