Just bought a new old woodstove for my ground floor. A Vermont Castings big one. Have a Big Jotul on the first floor. Planning on burning two and a half to three cord this year. Have an extra cord for margin.

So, what kind a wood stove do you use?

We love our Lopi woodstove. It’s was new in 1984 when our home was built. Michigan winters, 2X6 construction with super insulated walls and attic. Built with the old “energy crisis” in mind, and we have really saved on heating costs. 2100 square feet of house on 2 floors. Woodstove in downstairs in the family room. We never have to have a fire going overnigyt, about 7 or 8 logs will heat the whole home during the night, furnace will maybe turn on a few times during the day then we start up a fire late afternioon. We use about 2 cords a winter all our own wood. Hubby splits manually. He is 60 now. It’s work but he enjoys it. We usually do 2-3 years worth of wood at a time. Enjoy your stove!

Thanks. I’ll keep this in mind for when I convert.

We’re real happy with the Napoleon insert. Blower works great and ceiling fans move the heat from family room throughout house. Easy to clean, a coat of stove paint every couple of years. Beats the heck out of the Jotul we had.

Same here, but not exactly "whisper" quiet as advertised.

I’m in the process of moving from Massholeachusetts to Texas and plan to leave my wood stove behind.

I also plan to leave my wood pile (and whatever is in it) to the person who purchase the house.

You seem happy about this...

You betcha. I have survived, the Mormom Moron who gave us Obmney Care which all but destroyed medical care in Massghanistan.

I have survived (so far) Duval Doofus a/k/a Obama-lite Patrick.

I am tried of dealing with the legislature who robs those of us who pay taxes and also commits felony after felony. (Google Salvatore Di Masi or Felon Finneran or just Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives to see all the crooks who have been convicted of federal felonies. The Massachusetts Attorney General has not lifted a finger to try anyone for any of the frauds committed.)

I am tired of watching the frauds being committed by crimaliens and native Massholes alike such as applying for “crazy checks” for each child, applying for SSDI for live (by claiming they are unemployable because they suffer from an incurable disease such as alcoholism or drug abuse), collecting 99 weeks of unemployment while working for cash under the table, etc.

In Massachusetts you won’t find people echoing Patrick Henry demanding “Give me liberty or give me death!” but you will find people demanding “Give me more, more, more money you take from those who are working.”

Massachusetts is the least free place I have ever lived in my life. I am happy that I have completed my obligation to my Uncle Sam and can now leave the illiberal Talibani of Massghanistani in my rear view mirror.

Dont blame you. I left Mass in 1970 and never looked back.
