Las Vegas, Nevada— One day before a CNN Western Republican presidential debate, a new national survey indicates that Mitt Romney and Herman Cain are essentially tied for the lead in the race for the GOP nomination, with Rick Perry dropping to a distant third.
.....According to the poll [CNN/ORC International Poll], only one third of Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say they will definitely support the candidate they are currently backing, with two thirds saying they may change their minds.
"With only 33% of all Republicans saying that their minds are made up, it's far too early to say the race is over, or even that is has boiled down to a mano-a-mano fight between Romney and Cain," says Holland.
The survey indicates that most Republicans say they are satisfied with the field of GOP candidates still in the race, although only one in five describe themselves as very satisfied. Republicans who back the tea party are more satisfied with the field of candidates than Republicans who are neutral toward the tea party.

Herman Cain is leading most if not all national polls. He is up on Obama by 2 in Rasmussen. Those 2/3 Reps that have not yet made up their mind will see the two (Cain, Myth)front-runners and since (slightly) most GOP’ers are conservatives, Cain should take it. Not easily, not without some help, but he’ll beat Myth.
Then he’ll beat Obama.
After McCain got his backside handed to him in 08’, Perry got dropped like a hot potato and Myth gets whipped like a rented mule this election season, can we finally get the GOP establishment to quit trying to saddle us with these damnd losers?

I really don’t care for any of the candidates… Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan would require a constitutional amendment to start a national sales tax. AMENDMENT XVI, passed by Congress July 2, 1909. Ratified February 3, 1913, states: “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.” Income, not sales… 9-9-9 is also “revenue neutral.” Who wants “revenue neutral”? Not me! I want drastic spending cuts. I understand the sentiment that at least everyone would have “skin in the game”, but at what price? Going extra-constitutional? Continuing to fund this out-of-control, in-your-face government? Ron Paul has the right idea about a limited government with a trillion dollar spending cut, but he has electability issues. I do not like either the Romney or Perry RINO. I don’t think Bachman can get elected, although she understands that government is too big. Newt is smart, but far too willing to work with the other side. I am very frustrated with the current field. I guess it’s anybody but 0bama, but I suppose Congress will be the key. They will have to send the new President bills with spending cuts that limit the size and scope of this out-of-control government.

Rick Perry is the only other GOP candidate to have ever held a lead against the president in this cycle. That came just as the Texas governor entered the race when he was widely perceived as the front-runner. Perry now trails Obama by double digits.

Needs to be shouted from the rooftops! Two heads of a one party system. This is precisely why we were warned by our founders to NOT have a two party system. Fighting against rhw worst of two evils gets you...evil. The fact is, there’s always another candidate who’s just as bad. Hence we have these Perry Bots trying to convince us that without the (supposedly) lesser evil, Perry, we’ll have to choose the (supposedly) worse evil, Romney. I say, NONE OF THE ABOVE! That’s what the tea party movement is about, supporting conservatives, not liberals from the right wing of the socialist bird.
I beeeeeeeeeeelieve! Rick Perry is just $10 away from turning things around! 24 business hours from now, Perry will be leading all the polls and sailing to the nomination.

Rick Perry needs to drop out of this race. He is doing nothing but splitting a (small) part of the conservative vote away from Cain, which makes it easier for Romney to possibly get the nomination.
Any vote for Perry is a vote for Romney at this point.

And if this is the case then I would not vote for President on the ballot, just for Congress and other elected offices. The same goes for Romney. There is no way I would vote for a TALKER like Cain who has no governing record to judge him with and there is no way I would vote for a super liberal like Romney.
Out of completely serious curiosity, who do you think may potentially try to get into the game?
The GOP elitist RINO moonbats struck out with Christy, but I think he would have been a fading star as soon as he entered. The true majority of the GOP base is too quick to study up on the potential nominees.
Anyway, it'd be interesting to see who would be able to enter at this point and make it a race. I mean, someone who's not a RINO spoiler like Christy was.

It is interesting that you think that Perry is finished but yet you still obsess with him 24/7. If he is finished move on and focus on something else, or may be deep down you know that all the polls are total BS at this stage.
