Establishment Republicans may prefer Romney to Perry,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hopefully, the squishy Repubs will split their votes between Romney and Perry, thus making Cain the clear winner.

Isn’t it peculiar how little the occupy wall street crowd is mentioned by the Talk Shows? must want to avoid the subject?

Have you ever read the Codevilla piece? Reason I ask is because he articulates the issue far better than I ever could :)

And if you have had a chance to read it, I'm curious to know where you find fault with his argument?

FWIW, I've voted for my last RINO.

If my choice in November is between a RINO and Barry, I'll vote for Barry.

If you're interested in why: It's my band-aid philosophy applied to politics. IOW, I'm a ripper, not a tugger. The only diff between a 'Rat and RINO governance is how long it's gonna take the nation to implode. I'd rather get it over with sooner. For a variety of reasons, and all of them hopeful, actually.

BTW, I don't mean to sound flippant. I am not. But I'm done with compromising. And I'm ready to deal with the consequences.

You missing the point. Rodguy was talking about what 9-9-9 does after it passes, not how it would be demagogue in the campaign

And I'm still right. You may not view raising taxes on people in the lower end of the spectrum as class warfare. I might not view it as such. But I'm pretty sure that those who see their taxes go up while the taxes for you and me go down will view it that way.

While that is true, Cain’s plan brings back choice to the market place. You don’t have to spend the money on a new car if there is too much tax. The plan, that treats all the same, brigns back individual choice not choice by govt. and k-street lobbyists.

Jumping back in briefly to give an amen to Miss Marple.

She is lucky she has not been on some of the Perry/Cain theads this week, as I was stupid enough to do.

I pray I can bring myself to avoid them in the future. It will all shake out eventually and then we’ll have to bite the bullet and go all out for whoever the Republicans nominate.

That will be hard for some people to do when they’ve devoted all their energy recently to trashing one of our own candidates.

So then what you are saying is that the govt. can afford the tax breaks it gives to wage earners in this bracket? How so?If we don’t all chip in how does the debt disappear for our kids?

If Cain wants to sell this plan he needs to expose all these taxes to the light of day.

Have you ever looked at your cable bill? Your cell phone bill? In our case, our propane gas bill? Not to mention taxes on cigarettes, gas, alcohol.

the current tax rate to the consumer of the hidden/embedded taxes is the current 35% cooperate tax rate PLUS your cable bill? Your cell phone bill? In our case, our propane gas bill? Not to mention taxes on cigarettes, gas, alcohol.

Unbelievable actually!

One DBM type when asked by Christiannneeee on ABC without David or anyone rational, just said their(occupy idiots) purpose is acknowledged as rational just because they are there!! in other words all they have to do is show up and they give reason to unreasonable behavior!

Talk about desperate DBM type trying to cover-up for bad behavior.Does not get any better

When everyone pays tax, there is a broad enough voter base to reduce the size of government, government regulation, and government spending.

As it is now, when the majority of voters don't pay federal tax, the pressure is to continually increase taxes on the very people who are creating jobs and building businesses and increasing the wealth of the nation.

Sorry....But my husband and I were in that upper 50% who run small businesses. We had five full time employees. We SHRUGGED. We retired early at the ages of 59 and 53. Five full-time employees are out of a job, and indirectly many other employees in businesses that supported us have less work.

Unless business climate changes dramatically in this nation we plan to be **permanent** members of the “Atlas Shrugged” brigade!

under 9-9-9, we’d have an effective sales tax of 17% for every purchase except food and 9% on food.

The comparison isn't quite valid because the retail prices would go down due to the elimination of hidden taxes in the cost of retail goods.

How do you think Freepers on the other side feels when you posts this comment about Cain?

Was he pimping for Romney?

From your Post #37 this thread.

As I have suggested from the moment he entered the campaign to the Perry Camp. Tell us why we should be FOR Perry don't just trash talk everyone else.

As long as the Perry camp insists on running an ad homine attack campaign at everyone else, people are going to respond in kind.

There's a difference to me between "trashing" a candidate and learning as much as possible about our candidates' exploitable weaknesses now before it's too late. As Sarah Palin notes, Perry has a crony capitalism record in TX which Dem ads would feature prominently as soon as Reps try to play the Solyndra-GE-GM cards. That's too potent an issue to forfeit or counter with a weasely, "Yes, but your guy is worse."

Again, YOU missed the point. You are incorrect.

9-9-9 does NOT raise taxes on the lower end. They currently PAY MORE in just payroll taxes.

the big thing about Cains 999 plan is that it ends class warfare.

It also seriously cuts into the comfort zone of tax lawyers and CPAs.
