Ladies and gentleman, Kanye West is in the building. Or in this case, outside of it.
The outspoken rapper paid a visit to the Occupy Wall Street protests Monday afternoon, led by rap mogul Russell Simmons. Simmons was there to appear on Reverend Al Sharptons radio show, which the MSNBC primetime host was broadcasting live from the park.
The media spotlight on the movement has not faded and celebrity interest hasn't abated. Organization, however, is still lacking and political goals still need unpacking.
As the protests enter their fourth week, and copycat demonstrations proliferate as far as Fort Myers, Fla. -- population 48,000 and change -- media attention continues to grow. But that attention is often uncontrolled as the organization continues to find its footing.
We are supposed to talk a lot more than we do, one organizer told TheWrap, speaking about the relationship between the movements different bodies. Were still organizing so much.
As one stands at the various stations of the movements epicenter, there is a constant sense of organized chaos.

Yo man, Kanye. You still think George Bush is racist? What about brother Barack, what do you think of him???
YOYOYO, WALL STREET PROTESTERS IM GONNA LET YOU FINISH, BUT BEYONCE...
Did he bring a bag of fish sticks?
So why aren’t these people protesting Kayne? If anyone’s a millionaire it’s him and all those rap “artists”. Personally I admire anyone who starts up a business and becomes a huge success, OTOH someone who gets paid for stringing a bunch of profanity together to a techno beat, they should have their wealth “redistributed”. </s>
Def Anarchy Jam?
Charles Payne a Fox Business anchor confronted Russell Simmons yesterday on the air and did not let him get away with his blather. The exchange got quite heated and Payne clearly showed Simmons’ hypocrisy on how he made money vs what he was saying.
Perhaps the Occupiers will turn canibal and eat Kanye.
Now THAT would be funny.
I know who Kanye West is, but I’m not sure about Russell Simmons. Is he the Brit who’s married to Katy Perry?
LOL I’m not the only one then.
All I know is that they both have money and yet support taking money off the rich but won’t give up their own money.
The hypocrisy is astounding and that is why this demo will not succeed.
The tea party had a coherent message , this protest has many messages and does not connect with the majority of Americans who has worked or is working.
I’d like to see a reporter go and ask all these rich folk including those at NBC, MSNBC why they don’t give up their own money and house.
Yes, capitalism has really screwed Kanye West and his fellow blowhards in the rap industry, hasn’t it?
From the Article: The Tea Party wants to use the standard political channels to get candidates into office and really pressure the Republican Party with their presence, the press officer said. Were trying to create a social movement that will be independent and autonomous in our own objectives.
Right from the words of the beast. The Tea Party follows the laws and commands change by using the power granted to them; the vote. The OWS follow anarchy and communist manifesto, Cloward & Piven to crumble society. The are the scum of our society. I will say it, THEY HATE THE USA.
God willing they will FAIL.
Hehe. I’d like to see somebody offer him fish sticks on camera.
Well, that is confusing, isn’t it? Two annoying useless Russells.
But, at least I know who Katy Perry is.
Thanks tobyhill.
I love how rich entertainment industry demagogues self-promote, don’t you?
And we’re so wrong about the OWS rioters — if they were really in favor of killing the rich...
