Palin's Withdrawal Means Obama Wins
American Thinker ^ | October 8, 2011 | Robert Eugene Simmons Jr.

Unfortunately, it looks like the forces of smear, slander, and threat have finally claimed their intended victim. With Palin's announcement that she won't run for president, the election is essentially over.

The calculus is fairly simple: the media and GOP establishment want Romney to be the nominee. Once a progressive is at the head of the Republican ticket, low turnout for Republicans will hand a narrow victory to Obama.

So here is how the election will go. The media hasn't seriously opened up on Herman Cain, but most assuredly they will. Cain has been in business for decades, and the liberal media will troll through every relationship, every business deal, every word he has ever spoken. If that fails, the lies will start. To see evidence of this, we need not look at far as Palin. Rick Perry, another progressive, was attacked for something that someone painted on a rock on land his family leased out. That narrative will be used to attack both Perry and Cain -- Perry for having "allowed" it and Cain for making a big deal over "nothing." Both narratives will be forwarded, potentially in the same program. Once the liberal media goes through Cain's past with a fine-toothed comb, they will doubtless find disgruntled business adversaries, accusations of infidelity, and more.

If Palin had been in the race, the smear tactics would have failed, as the establishment and media threw everything they could possibly throw to get her out of the race. Who knows what her personal reasons, in her heart of hearts, were for not running? Perhaps she feared for the safety of her family. At any rate, there is no other conservative that has as much of a head start on the slander as Palin did....

HOGWASH!

O'Donnell had him down in a trice and Cain has NEVER even competed in anything other than a state primary and he lost that.

She did not withdraw, because she never entered the race. After keeping people guessing as to whether or not she would declare, she finally said "no" to a run, just as deadlines started to approach.

Withdrawing means you enter the race then decide to leave it. She did not officially enter.

Some called her a polarizing figure. She would need Republicans and independents to win but I'm not sure she would have won the latter.

Most in this thread seem to forget Dem election methodology. They're not in this to win the election, they're in this to destroy the candidacies of anyone who opposes them.

Never forget the lies, distortions, deceptions, scare-mongering, race-baiting, voter intimidation, govt clubs and thugs over non-existent disenfranchisement and just downright vote fraud.

They have no morals, scruples or ethics.

The Dems may be unhappy with Obama, but do you really think there's going to be a mass shift of their voting habits that sends them to vote for a Republican?

I agree with the premise of the article. If Mitt is the nominee, he's only the slightest bit to the right of Obama. Witness the two healthcare programs. If Mitt is the nominee many republicans are going to figure, "why bother. A difference that makes no difference, IS not difference."

Just imho of course.

To paraphrase John Kerry she could say, “I actually did
withdraw from the race before I entered it.”

She did not go through a bunch of campaigning then said she would drop out of the race. She simply never entered and one cannot withdraw from a race one has never entered. She “chose not to run”, instead of “she haltered her declared campaign
and decided to quit the race.”

We’re better than that. Affection for Palin must not trump our desire for Liberty.

The people who stay home are not Freepers. They aren't people throwing tantrums because their candidate is not the nominee. They don't follow the news. They are people who have never thought of voting as a critical part of their lives. Don't tell me how dumb that is, that's just the way it is. The only way to get them out to vote is to find a candidate who grabs their attention. Ronald Reagan did, Pat Robertson did, and in local elections around the country someone occasionally does, or a ballot issue gets them out to the polls. At the same time Gerald Ford, Bob Dole and John McCain didn't grab their attention. I didn't plan it that way, nor do I approve, but after 20+ years in the business I understand it. So take it or leave it, but that's the way a HUGE number of eligible voters on our side behave.

I would like Cain/Palin, or Palin/Cain.

No check-pants/pink tie RINOS for me.
If one is the nominee, I will not even bother with an absentee ballot, but I am from Tennessee, so not to worry.

Anyone is better than Obama. It’s my only conclusion since Sarah is not running. Out with the fascist.

I think the demonic Obama machine will do everything necessary to ensure re-election. This doesn’t bother me because I know God wins in the in. I’m just greatful to be one of the ones to experience the end of this revealing age through which we will all pass... one way or another.

Please “like” www.facebook.com/draftsarahpalin . That will register support . Phase two is to write a letter or send a postcard to The Office of Sarah Palin, PO Box 871235 Wasilla, AK 99687 asking her to reconsider. She has said in the past that her ideal candidate is not someone seeking the office pandering to voters, but someone who is reluctant to serve and is found by the people and asked to make the personal sacrifice to serve. Ask that she make that sacrifice.

The title says it all... How can one “withdraw” from a race they weren’t in to begin with? I find it ironic in that he says lies and slander claimed a victim when, although mild, he participates in what has plagued Palin all along - little digs from the media.

I have three copies of the DVD and I am giving two to friends and keeping one for people to borrow and let others borrow. I may just buy more. We need to make sure as many uninformed people get the facts.

I am also going to donate to Sarahpac and ask her to come out for Cain. All he PAC money will go to help finance the campaigns of Conservatives for House,Senate, and Governors. The sooner we get rid of the Corrupt Liberal Pubbies the better it will be to take our Country back.

It ain't over until Rosie O’donnell sings. A lot can still happen, and some of the people I know that did not support Sarah, are really having second thoughts. They realize that she stands out as the real deal compared to the others. People are unhappy with the choices.

I am still digesting the Palin letdown and have not decided on any of the current field. But will say Romney in no way, betwixt him and Obama it is fiddly dee and fiddly dum. So in the end could care less which one wins the general as result will be the same..

That’s excellent. Sarah may have decided not to run this time but we haven’t heard the last from her. She’s just getting warmed up. IMHO.
