Senator Chuck Grassley and Congressman Darrell Issa today said that Attorney General Eric Holder received at least five weekly memos beginning in July 2010, including four weeks in a row, describing the ill-advised strategy known as Operation Fast and Furious. The memos were to Holder from Michael Walther, the director of the National Drug Intelligence Center.
(snip)
The memos specifically said that the straw buyers were responsible for the purchase of 1500 firearms that were then supplied to Mexican drug trafficking cartels.
With the fairly detailed information that the Attorney General read, it seems the logical question for the Attorney General after reading in the memo would be why havent we stopped them? Grassley said. And if he didnt ask the questions, why didnt he or somebody in his office?
Attorney General Holder has failed to give Congress and the American people an honest account of what he and other senior Justice Department officials knew about gunwalking and Operation Fast and Furious. The lack of candor and honesty from our nations chief law enforcement officials in this matter is deeply disturbing, Issa said.

Update at 11:35 a.m. ET. On Solyndra And “Fast & Furious”:
He has “complete confidence in Attorney Gen. [Eric] Holder,” the president says, and trusts that if either he or Holder had known about the federal “Fast and Furious” program that allowed guns to be sent from the U.S. to Mexican drug cartels, they would have moved to stop it.
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Didn't you get the memo?

Senate Panel Approves Holder Nomination For AG
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he supports Holders view that the country needs to interrogate terrorism suspects based on American values.
I am confident this new attorney general will have a balanced approach and I look forward to working with him. I know hes made mistakes and so have I, Graham said.

USC to get new business building
Funds will come from leasing current building to Department of Justice
An estimated 250 Justice Department employees working in different locations near Washington, D.C., will be relocated to Columbia over an unspecified period.
Graham said U.S. taxpayers will save $42 million by having Justice Department employees working in South Carolina, which has lower costs than Washington.
It was almost too good to be true, Graham said of the plan. But it proved to be true.
Graham, a Republican, praised U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Deputy Attorney General David Ogden, both of whom were appointed by President Obama, a Democrat.
I cant thank Eric Holder and David Ogden enough, Graham said, adding they offered their support for a leasing plan that was initiated during the administration of George W. Bush.
like to see this doofus fall.
Not to worry. He will investigate himself. If he doesn’t, the next in line will investigate him......his best friend. If that doesn’t work, the next in line will investigate him.....a good friend of Obama. So you see.....it’s in the fix.
Sen. John Cornyn says Attorney General Eric Holder, above, has given a half-hearted and weak explanation of what he knew about Fast and Furious and when he knew it. The attorney general needs to be called back to testify under oath before Congress, Cornyn says. If theres nothing wrong here, if he just didnt know about it, then he should welcome that kind of inquiry to clear up this confusion. (AP Photo)

true .. he can claim incompetence
“like to see this doofus fall.”
Which doofus? Holder or Grahamnesty? Holder is just a simple crooked Black lawyer who appoints other crooked Black lawyers to high office (can you say B. Todd Jones newly of the BATFE). Grahamnesty, on the other hand is a stupid one. Both need to “fall.”
I liked how Bill O’Reilly caused Lanny Davis’s jaw to drop just about to the floor last night when he said “You expect ME to believe that - nevermind the millions of people who think you’re a pinhead?”
LOL at BOR, once in a while he hits a nail on the head.
1. re: Fast & Furious. He left no wiggle room in his denial He is now on record. (bold mine, formatted for ease of reading).
Now, with respect to Solyndra and Fast and Furious, I think Ive been very clear that I have complete confidence in Attorney General Holder in how he handles his office. He has been very aggressive in going after gun running and cash transactions that are going to these transnational drug cartels in Mexico. There has been a lot of cooperation between the United States and Mexico on this front.
Hes indicated that he was not aware of what was happening in Fast and Furious; certainly I was not.
And I think both he and I would have been very unhappy if somebody had suggested that guns were allowed to pass through that could have been prevented by the United States of America.
2. Nothing to do with FnF. I just pulled it because it is stupid, stupid, stupid.
So far they havent been responsive to not just me but public opinion. We saw that during the debt ceiling vote. But were just going to keep on making the case. But I guess what Im saying, though, here, Bill, is -- and I said this when I made my speech at the joint session -- the election is 13, 14 months away.
I would love nothing more than to not have to be out there campaigning because we were seeing constructive action here in Congress. Thats my goal. Thats what Im looking for.
Now Congress is to blame because he has to campaign? Has he ever taken responsibility for anything in his life?
Obama is lying on his behalf as well. In the cover statement on this issue at his press conf today he stood behind Holder's statements.
It would take someone with balls to call Holder & Obama out for being the liars that they are.
Can anyone tell me who might have the balls?
