I like Cain. I like MB too but she seems to have slipped out of viability.
I’m not at all happy with Perry, he’s better than Romney but so is used kitty litter. I could only just barley support Perry if he was the nominee.

From what I've read lately the RNC has already decided Mittens is our candidate. All this debate is just wasted time and peoples money.

And while I can't get too jazzed up about the prospect of a Romney presidency, on a national scale (e.g., beyond the realm of the red meat eating conservatives here on FR), I think Romney might actually have a chance to do well against Obama. Coming from the mindset of an "undecided" (i.e., idiot) voter, he's not too "republican" to invoke the stereotype (intolerant southern flat Earther), plus, he's a business guy who might actually have a solid idea or three about the economy. The undecided guy's going to say okay, I voted for Obama the last time because everyone told me how bad Bush was, so it was time for a Democrat, and plus, I was part of an historic vote that sent a black man to the White House, but let's face facts: Obama has done a very, very poor job of it, and now I'm voting for my pocketbook.
Do the “ask a liberal” test. Find a true-blue Obama supporter and say: “I hear that Rick Perry fellow is a liberal, illegal-loving, hold your kid down and jab them with Gardisil left-wing statist.” Would you vote for him?
Imagine the laughter.

But from where I'm sitting, and granted, that's firmly behind enemy lines, Bush is still Hitler, and the ire is directed not against Obama, but against the obstructionist Republicans in Congress who just won't Dear Leader sprinkle his magic dust and make everything come out rainbows and whoopie pies. People are mad to some degree at Obama, yes, but not because he sucks, but because he isn't fighting the Republicans like some sort of lion tamer in the circus. And unfortunately, the northeast has a population advantage when it comes to a general national election.
As a very outspoken border fence advocate, as much as I hate to admit it, this is a salient point. It is a terrible desert, and cows need water (not to mention wildlife). But how do we guarantee ongoing defense without it? electronic surveillance is wiped out by defunding it... the stroke of a pen and it is gone. Boots on the ground - same thing... been there done that.

A highly intelligent friend on the left (Obama donor) said a month ago when Perry was in ascendancy: “As a democrat, I am glad to see Rick Perry doing well, since he is a less moderate candidate than Romney.”
“Not sure I’m in favor of instituting another tax before repealing the 16th and abolishing the income tax. There would be nothing stopping the congress from upping 9-9-9 to 12-12-12 or 16-16-16, etc, or any other combination of numbers to “spread the wealth around.”
No gimmicks. Just cut, baby, cut!! Cut the government, cut the regulations, cut the taxes and cut the damned spending already!!

After Chris Wallace’s interview on Fox News Sunday, where he was asking for the names of the people who helped develop the plan, there were some articles mocking the fact that Herman Cain didn’t give the names.
A lot of the comments were saying “Who cares about the names, tell us whether it’s a good plan or not.”
Take a look at the part of the FOX debate where Wallace gets ready to ask about the 9 9 9 plan, and notice the SHOCKED look on his face when he starts to ask the question, and there is just a roar of cheers from the crowd.
I think anybody that can get a crowd cheering about a tax discussion, will be able to beat Romney and Obama.

Don’t forget, they told us for weeks that whoever won that straw poll would be the nominee.
My friends on the left are mostly fearful of Romney, as he has crossover appeal and is not scary to independents.
They laugh at Herman Cain’s chance, but welcome him greatly as competition to Obama.
If conservatives can get the White House, I'd like to see those "czar" positions go away.

Santorum is likely a VP candidate; I believe he’s conservative enough and being from one of the pivotal states will make him desireable in that role.
I don’t think Palin will turn down VP if asked by Perry or Cain. I also don’t think she’d turn down head of DOE if asked. All Freepers out there, please stop using CZAR terminology; that is Obama terminology...not U.S.
Unfortunately Cain said he didn’t want to be Perry’s VP...bummer...as either way would be fine.
Don’t be surprised if Kasich is VP also as Ohio is pivotal.

Other than Cain, I don’t have anything nice to say about the rest who are a bunch of egos yaking and yammering about problems of which they have no idea how they are going to solve. It is all blah blah blah.

Perhaps your post was written in haste, or maybe you didn’t understand what Perry was referring to in the very unfortunate remark “you don’t have a heart.” It had to do with TX providing the in-state tuition only; no more. That tuition break was voted nearly unanimously by the TX state legislature, which also invested state resources to the tune of $400M in its own border protection in the absence of the federal government doing same, as is a clearly enumerated federal power by the U.S. Constitution.
As has been explained, I’d venture to no avail:
1. The TX law is NOT about “Free” tuition; it’s in-state tuition.
2. The FREE tuition that Texans pay for undocumented/ illegal students was MANDATED for K-12 by the SCOTUS. Take your complaint up with them.
3. The landowners on the border oppose a fence that would keep their livestock and farming production from their primary water source. Look to the Great Valley of CA if you want to see the effect of separating farmers/ranchers from their water supply.
4. The TX/MX border is 1200+ miles; instead of a fence, TX/Perry want heavy troop/drone coverage of that 1200 miles.
Once again: If per chance Romney wins the GOP nomination, and folks decide to act like children and not vote, OBAMA WILL WIN HIS SECOND TERM. With Romeny we have a chance; with Obama we're finished...PERIOD!
OK, tell you what, everyone should take your advice. If Bachman doesn't win the nomination, her supporters should sit out the general election. If Santorum doesn't win the nomination, his supporters should sit out as well. I mean, after all, voting for anybody other than our favorite just won't "cut it."
Bachmann and Santurum are, at least, conservatives. Romney is not.
That is where you fail.
With Obama and Romney, we get the same package deal; a package deal I don’t want. The rest of the candidates offer some variation to a package deal that I actually am interested in.

So, you're going to seriously sit here and tell me Romney hates the country and is out to destroy it? Are f-ing serious? Any one of the GOP nominees would be light years ahead of the Marxist currently occupying the Whitehouse...including Romney.
As a Cain supporter, it's my hope he wins the GOP primary, but if he doesn't, I'm not going to go away and pout like some sorry a$$ sissy. I'm committed to voting for whomever the GOP primary winner is...EVEN IF IT'S ROMNEY! Those who choose not to vote for Romney are in essence strengthening Obama’s chances for winning. Even Sarah has said Anybody but Obama (ABO). I'll take her advice. The consequences of the Kenyan winning another term are simply do depressing to comprehend. We have to deal with reality should it come knocking. This isn't a perfect world.
