His death was reported by The Associated Press, citing Apple.

Jobs co-founded Apple Computer in 1976 and, with his childhood friend Steve Wozniak, marketed what was considered the world's first personal computer, the Apple II.

Damn, RIP

Things happen in 3’s. Wonder what the Third big event of the day is going to be?

Maybe in this case they'll be binary. (Hope Steve would find
that funny)

>> RIP; Whether you like Apple or not Jobs had a major impact on the world.

+1

He used his brief stay on this terrestrial ball pretty well, I’d say.

I hope he believed on Jesus prior to his departure.

Whether you are a fan of Apple or not, Steve Jobs was an American visionary and entrepreneur who inspired not only a company, but a host of young people across this country to use their minds and imaginations.

His loss is profound.

"Somehow I am thinking that the new I Phone “S”, may now have a meaning. “S” for Steve."

Hadn't thought of that but you are probably correct. 4S = For Steve. Maybe the insiders knew his time had come and timed yesterday's release of the 4S as a parting tribute.

RIP, I hope he found the Lord for his long journey.

But I’m still thankful to him & Woz for my Apple ][ GS. I kinda miss the ol’ beast.

It’s a shame to lose anybody that young. I don’t have much use for the Apple cultist types, but no one can deny that Jobs was a visionary with an amazing sense for marketing and development.

Here’s sick irony for you. One of the Phelps family from Westboro Baptist Church has already Tweeted that they’re going to picket his funeral.

She tweeted it from “Twitter for iPhone.”

Sad news.
Thank you Mr. Jobs for all the wonderful things you brought into our lives. Rest in peace. You are gone too soon but will never be forgotten. Trite maybe-but oh, so true.

Just curious but shouldn’t the headline read “Apple Founder Steve Jobs” instead of “Ex-Apple CEO Steve Jobs”. He was the founder only once, but he was CEO 3 or 4 times over the decades.

Sad to see him go. Truly a visionary, revolutionary, and also a man who knew how to identify genius and even cultivate intuition.

I read this thread on an iPod Touch. I remember our first computer lab in school had a few Apple IIs. Thanks, Steve.

Guys like Steve are rare. Sad to see him go.

Mr. Jobs didn't invent things. He marketed things.

You're wrong, and just one of those haters out there. You have no right saying un truths on a sad day. Steve Jobs is an inventor in his own right, with a couple hundred patents. How many do you have? I have personally been around Andy Hertzfeld, Guy Kawasaki, and others before the Lisa and Mac came out. Steve Jobs was very much involved in the creative design behind the Mac. Andy is a very smart engineer. Perhaps you should ask him if Jobs only marketed it! And he'll tell you Steve was a smart engineer too, and contributed a lot to it's design.

Bought an Apple II SE, I think that's what it was called, in early 1990. Paid about $3500 (actually CHARGED on credit)...had a small 7-8 inch screen - black and white, yet I did a ton of free lance desktop publishing...typesetting for a number of local printing outfits and customers needing some very "specialized skill" at the time, which allowed me the opportunity to stay home with my new born son...for about 12 months, until I ended up with a most fantastic job. Anyways...was a great investment at the time! My oh my! How far we've come!

Thanks Steve! Thanks for the memories!
