Hi, Guen! Good to “see” you!

I saw your posts last night, too. We felt the same way.

You’re a treasure, and we’ll keep fighting the good fight.

And soon you’ll have a tagline!

Sarah will still be fighting—just not in the way we had envisioned for her. God bless.

I concur with Sickoflibs, while I had issues with some of the Palin supporters, you were never one of them.

RE :”I never bought the grand strategy/unconventional campaign nonsense. She kept her options open, I think, precisely because so long as she was a “candidate” or potential candidate, she could generate news and get coverage of her (important) comments against Obama. But now such coverage will necessarily diminish. I don't care what she said on Greta and don't dwell on it.
All along it was about things you can touch and see: was there a real organization? No. Were there campaign HQ in every important primary state/swing state? No. Was “conservatives4Palin” a legitimate site? Well, when you go to half the states on the little map and click on them “Not response” comes up, so I never thought that was legitimate evidence of an organization.

That sounds very reasonable above. There were a few other things that tipped me off that she absolutely would not run. The biggest was her paid FNC job going on Greta giving opinions of the candidates. To me there was close to zero % chance she would run

Man did I get cursed at and called names for trying to tell others she would not run in comments, and I was one of the very first to say it. Most of my so called PDS friends didnt believe me until the last month or so, although saying it was labelled a sign of PDS. If you said she wouldnt run, you were just trying to get others to abandon her campaign.

rodguy911, your comments have been very well received by me—thank you for being measured and objective in your responses.

I have looked closely at Marco Rubio, and he has a lot on the ball, but he needs more experience as a legislator on the national scene.

Besides, I have done the research, and he is not natural born. He is native born, as I am, and that is not the same as natural born. He is not eligible for the office of President or Vice President.

This seems to trigger a rabid response from a lot of folks here who should know better, but who are even more emotionally invested in Rubio than I was ever in for Sarah.

So be it. Not that you’re one of them—I can see the attraction and potential Rubio possesses. I’ll leave it at that, lest this thread turns into a thread on eligibility for the office.

Thanks again for your reasoned replies. On this thread, that’s a rarity.

Folks need to remember that what goes around comes around. I am disappointed in many Freepers today. I thought we were better than gloaters and haters. Evidently not.

A reading from the Book of ZOT!

Brethren, we have entered a time of great woe. For some, this Time of Trials will forge a firmer grade of steel, for others it will break them and reveal the essence of who they truly are within.

And Some will take the occasion to build upon their fame and notoriety. And so it was with our fallen brother Famousdayandyear, who sought to use his position among the chosen to challenge the rule of the Great Cat himself!

Fool!

The Great Cat is wise beyond the ken of any chosen brother or sister. His rule is absolute! And it is he who will guide us when this great confusion amongst the faithful reigns!

But Hades hath no fury like a wet Kittith, as famousdayandyear did learn to his great woe. Stirred from his thoughts profound, the Great Cat himself did once again descend from his throne in Valhalla to extract fuzzy vengeance upon the behollowed brow of the latest seeker of fame beyond his ken.

And the Great Cat did call for the Lord High Executioner, "Curly Bill", whose visceral image stirred fear in the hearts of mighty Kitties and small furry animals alike!

And so did Bill speakith the Holy Words of Condemnation onto the waxified ears of the not-so Famous, and he was smitten in a flash from on high! Verily! and with much Poop!

Denied the fame he sought, the Viking Kitties then did feast upon his bezotted bits and bytes, making the sacred pilgrimage to Trollhenge and in doing, relieved themselves of their burden in the Porcelain Receptacle, where his putrid essence remains to this day!

Sadly brethren, it appears that he is far form the last of us whose self adoration will instill importance upon themselves they do not possess. Rather than bask in dignity, they revel in emotions better left to the Lost Tribes and those Outcasts of the digital realm. Already another waits in the wings, waiting for the moment when he too will deny the sacred teachings...

And again, the lightning will come...

Book of ZOT!

Chapter 13; Verses 1-9; Eh Poo Bruti?

Thanks for the encouraging note, and you are correct--moving the direction of the ship of state takes time.

You rightly point out that there were gains made in 2010, and more are needed in 2012. We are trying to reverse a bad course, and that takes time.

I would like to comment on one thing you said:

"First, abortion is blood on the hands of liberals."

I have a different perspective, having been in the abortion fight for over 25 years. Abortion would be a distant memory now if non-liberals stood with us in the fight. What you would think would be natural allies, many conservative in nature, turned their heads away--too controversial.

I know I can stand in front of Jesus Christ when He takes me home and not be ashamed--I stood and still stand for what is right.

But, truth be told, there are a lot of people on the right who would not invest in this "social issue".

And our country stands in judgment for it.

Abortion is blood on the hands of MANY people, and not just liberals.

Thanks for the reasoned dialogue.

That’s all well and good Car...except that Perry DID attempt to usurp the rights of Texas Parents over Guarsasil and no amount of spinning on your part will ever change history.

Nor will all your spinning change your post history.

As for me, You wanna show ONE thing in my post walking back anything? I had the integrity to admit I was wrong. That’s not a walkback, that’s just a fact. I neither disavow anything I ever posted RE Palin or you PDSers, nor rescind my comments about your lack of guts. I will ADD to them stating that your entire display on this thread shows the kind of person you really are.

And I hope to top you poop list for all of our remaining days on FR. If you think I’m going to wither up and blow away, you are sadly mistaken.

I never said I wasn’t voting, I said I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER vote for Romney, even if he is the GOP nominee.

If the idiots nominate Romney, them I am out of the GOP forever because they no longer represent me.

We need to overthrow the Establishment and their candidate, Mitt Romney! PERIOD.

So instead you would rather vote for the paler version of Obama?

Thank you for your honest response, AG.

However, from my viewpoint, politicians are what got us in this mess and we need someone who thinks outside the box. I believe someone without political favors to pay back and a head for business (which is ultimately what this country is) would be much better than the same ol’ same ol’.

I like to think myself a good judge of character, and I trust he will take stands on what he says he believes. Right now, I believe Cain is our best choice by far of those running. All candidates have issues, but we need fresh blood.

Eventually people are going to have to accept the fact that the GOP is part of the problem if they continue the way they are. A third Party is about the only option short of capitulation.

If Romney gets the nom, what choice dose a Conservative have? Vote RINO or Dem?

Nope. Let it burn and pray we can rebuild.

She had her cake and ate it too no matter how you slice or they try to spin it.She kept her contract at Fox and did a listening tour.If huck was still working at Fox and bought a bus to go to Iowa and campaign he would have been fired. But then again I don’t think Huckabee would deceive and tease.

And she was ‘poll watching.’ why? I thought polls were for strippers?

“Most Christians would say that there is only one savior and that he fulfills that role for all nations.”

I think most Christians are aware of the difference between the savior of our souls and a temporal savior of our country from the evil influences that have ruined it.

“I think the idea that a political candidate can be considered a “savior” is dangerous and totally at odds with what America is supposed to be about.”

Nonsense. We are not a democracy. We are a representative republic, which means that we recognize that some people are are more suited to the business of governing than others.

There is nothing in the concept of a great leader who will pull us back from the brink that is antithetical to what America is supposed to be about.

Right now, America is not what America is all about. A leader who could drain the swamp and restore the Constitution as the law of the land could reasonably be called a savior.

I have been in the Second Amendment fight for 20+ years. Many on our side would not admit they owned firearms or would never support concealed carry, etc.

It was RINOs that coined the term "reasonable" gun laws.

But, we won the debate in the minds of the public.....slowly....over time. Now 49 states have some form of concealed carry laws, SCOTUS affirmed the Second Amendment as an individual right and incorporated it.

Abortion is the same. With ultrasound, more and more people are seeing a fetus as life. We are winning the debate on this in the hearts and minds of the public.

Not everyone stood with the founders after they declared independence and the British sent troops.

Amen, Reaganaut!! Romney must be knocked out in the primaries. If we put up the abortionist, gay rights champion, global warming advocate, big government mandate loving architect of ObamaCommieCare as our “conservative” candidate, we’re doomed. Obama waltzes in for four more years. The GOP establishment is led by idiots!! If they do this, the GOP proves it no longer even pretends to be a conservative party and will be forever dead to me!!

RIP GOP. Long live the conservative party!!
