You rightly point out that there were gains made in 2010, and more are needed in 2012. We are trying to reverse a bad course, and that takes time.
I would like to comment on one thing you said:
"First, abortion is blood on the hands of liberals."
I have a different perspective, having been in the abortion fight for over 25 years. Abortion would be a distant memory now if non-liberals stood with us in the fight. What you would think would be natural allies, many conservative in nature, turned their heads away--too controversial.
I know I can stand in front of Jesus Christ when He takes me home and not be ashamed--I stood and still stand for what is right.
But, truth be told, there are a lot of people on the right who would not invest in this "social issue".
And our country stands in judgment for it.
Abortion is blood on the hands of MANY people, and not just liberals.
Thanks for the reasoned dialogue.
I have been in the Second Amendment fight for 20+ years. Many on our side would not admit they owned firearms or would never support concealed carry, etc.
It was RINOs that coined the term "reasonable" gun laws.
But, we won the debate in the minds of the public.....slowly....over time. Now 49 states have some form of concealed carry laws, SCOTUS affirmed the Second Amendment as an individual right and incorporated it.
Abortion is the same. With ultrasound, more and more people are seeing a fetus as life. We are winning the debate on this in the hearts and minds of the public.
Not everyone stood with the founders after they declared independence and the British sent troops.
