The Washington Post story revealing that Texas Governor Rick Perry hunted and hosted lawmakers at a hunting camp called Niggerhead is alarming and displays a new height in racial insensitivity in national politics. Mr. Perry should immediately fully explain how he could have gone to a ranch and hunted that is named after such an obvious racist term or he should withdrawl from the race. He is either blindly insensitive or hopelessly unaware of where he spends his time. Either way it makes one wonder if he is ready for prime time and certainly whether he is ready for the White House. Reverend Al Sharpton, President National Action Network

I mean to ask why they didn’t just get rid of the rock after all these years since the name is STILL visible under the paint? Break it up and get rid of it.
It’s not their land or their rock. They are tenants on the property. It’s not their rock to break up.
Perry is not a RINO!!!
Was it their rock to paint?
Um, pubs = libs. iPhones...
That nasty commie c&$t, Amanpour, got Cain in a gotcha question. Two actually including the “Gay Soldier” question. Cain needs to sharpen up but at least he hasn’t suggested sending the military to Mexico.
I understand Rev Al got his degree when he was 10 from another ersatz preacher.
It's yet another faux pas by Cain. Folks can try to defend these sorts of 'shoot from the hip' mis-statements by Cain all they like, but what's done is done, and he will be judged by what he's said.
For my part, I don't completely condemn him. His response was pretty measured and sober, considering the volatile nature of the report. Still - he didn't need to say a damn thing. It was Perry's controversy to deal with. He could have declined to comment until all the facts were in. That would have been the smarter play, in my opinion.
Now some, like you, see his statement as pulling the race card, which I can't argue with. Dumb move, in my opinion.
I think he could have waited till he saw it was becoming an issue with Perry. It’s not a valid issue for present day Perry because that was from his Rat days. Anyhow any apology should be for not more clearly discerning the situation which was historical, and not related to present Perry attitudes. This makes him look better than the now-zotted Tempest, who would take any quasi-plausible opportunity to rag on Perry. Integrity, and acknowledgment of where he agrees with his rivals, is crucial to making Cain acceptable to a wide range of people.
<<<<<<<<<<< well.. here is where the race stands as of today:
Paul - loveable lunatic that will get us all killed
Bachmann - apparently became retarded after being forcefully injected with HPV
Perry coddles illegals by offering them instate tuition rates
Cain Race baiting turncoat with no experience and no money
Santorum A one term loser and petty little man that polls 1%
Romney A slick talking Mormon liberal who has changed his position on every issue to try and fool conservatives.
Huntsman A slick talking liberal who didnt bother to change his positions, and obviously got confused what primary he was running in.
Gingrich has more baggage than all his wives put together.
*sigh* >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Then it’s settled, we all support Gary Johnson!!!! :o)
GMTA!
She did her job well....look at what she caused/accomplished here.
I thought Cain answered the gay soldier question very well. He said he felt the boos were directed at the policy and that you have 60 seconds for your answer. Was Cain even asked at the debate since the question was for Santorum?
This whole set up reaks of the way they tried to tie George Bush with Jasper, Texas dragging. It really stinks. I had nothing but good things to say about the respectful way Herman Cain conducted himself during the debates. But for him to wallow in this muck with Al Sharpton is a total turn off. He will lose supporters for this.
I agree. I also am not a Perry fan, but this is stupid.
My husband and I bought a house and land in texas. after the sale was final and we’d moved in, we found out that the areas we lived in was nicknamed ‘Indian Valley’.
I guess there’s no way either of us can ever run for public office now. My dreams are crushed. :sigh:
Nope, but that’s a little less drastic than smashing a 5x3 foot rock to smithereens. It was obviously used as a sign to the property considering it was located right next to the gate.
because he didn't own the land or have the lease those 20 years?
lol
was that the gay guy on the left in the last debate?
I was wondering what his name was.
That's why English has the largest vocabulary and is the most expressive language in the world. We took the best words from all of them! Ban politically correct language police!
The lunatics who are getting us killed are the ones who who have tried to police the world since the demise of the evil empire. Why don’t you blame those “lunatics” instead of a man who is sensibly trying to reverse these policies?
