Cain's "Brainwashed" Remark Was "Racist, Bigoted"
Real Clear Politics ^ | September 30, 2011 | Real Clear Politics video

Democratic strategist Cornell Belcher says there is a media "double-standard" over Herman Cain saying blacks have been "brainwashed." Belcher calls Mr. Cain a bigot and a racist and says this incident is a "teachable moment." (h/t TRS)

CORNELL BELCHER, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: First of all, do you think you're going to invite me on the show and then I'm not going to talk about the ridiculousness of that statement? Two things. One is a great way to sort of get people on your side and win voters is to attack their intelligence.

So great job there. Really sensible, Herman Cain.

The second part here is, it's really a teachable moment. You know, if I came on your show, Anderson, and I said, all Jewish people are brainwashed, I probably wouldn't be invited back to CNN and I assure you the condemnation would be swift and it'd be powerful and be strong.

What Herman Cain said was a racist, bigoted statement and it should treated like a racist and bigoted person who makes those racist and bigoted statements.

COOPER: Ari, what about that? I mean saying black voters have been brainwashed, how does that language play outside his supporters?

Now if he was a dem it would be different.

Of course, as they say, if it weren't for double standards, Liberals would have no standards at all.

If Cain is nominated on the Republican ticket, next year is going to be a barrel of laughs.

Cain once said:

The suggestion from the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza came in an exchange about why the GOP hopeful doesn't consider himself an African American.

"I am an American. Black. Conservative," he said in explaining his view on the matter. "I don’t use African American, because I’m American, I’m black and I’m conservative. I don’t like people trying to label me. African American is socially acceptable for some people, but I am not some people."

Cain said that he considers himself to be "a black man in America" and feels stronger ties to the United States than to Africa. He suggested his perspective has been informed by the fact that he can trace most of his ancestors to the U.S. and it also "goes back to slavery."

The presidential contender went on to draw a contrast between himself and the president, who he described as "more of an international,"

Is this “Cornel” a brother of marxist, jive-talking, electrified hair professor “Cornel West”? He looks like him, talks like him, and is crazy just like him.

Doppelganger. Democrat doppelganger. Dopy Doppelganger.

Full of crap doppelganger.

Old Belchy’s been smoking some of that Democrat Party plantation mary-jane. If not, then he is just plain crazy.
Nothing else can explain his sheer stupidity, unless, oh gee, he was “brainwashed” by the Dems. Oh the horrors of it.

Because the word “racist” is already an automatic response...there is nothing alternative to it in the single-brain cell minds of liberals.

The true racists are the liberals who want to keep a segment of the population on their plantation. That is exactly what Herman Cain meant....

The left hates Cain because he can expose them for the liars and racists that they truly are and they are afraid he will awaken the African American community to the truth that they don’t need the Democrats who only serve to hold them back.

I'd bet 50% of "African" Americans couldn't find Africa on a map. That is their way of thinking they are something other than Americans. My family came from Scotland. I DO NOT call myself a Scottish-American!!! I AM AN AMERICAN! I was born here. I will die here. I bleed red, white and blue. All my Scottish family members will just have too suck it up and understand that! I ain't no Scottish American.

There is nothing in my opinion that makes Italy special in that regard. What about the Irish, french, Germans? If Italy is special, then everyone is. They (we) all came from those places. So, no, only Americans in my book. Just call me American, period.

I remember reading something about Teddy Roosevelt giving a speech in which he was opposed to hyphenated Americans. Any American was either an American 100% or not at all.
