If Palin Enters the 2012 Contest, Christie Will Too
FoxNews.com ^ | September 30, 2011 | Juan Williams

What will it take to get Chris Christie to say yes and run for the GOP nomination?

Come on down -- Sarah Palin.

If the queen of the Tea Party makes a grand entrance into the Republican primary sweepstakes the New Jersey governor will finally say yes to all the calls for him to jump into the race.

At this moment Palin has reason to think she should run. A mid-September McClatchy/Marist poll of registered voters put her only 5 percentage points behind President Obama in a head-to-head match-up. No previous poll ever put her in the elite category of Republicans within striking distance of defeating the president.

This week Palin, appearing on Fox News, said she has to make up her mind soon because “You have to get your ducks lined up in order to get your name on ballots.” She emphasized that she doesn’t need the title of president to make a difference in American politics. Still, the former Alaska governor, apparently responding the recent good poll numbers, said she is confident she can win the White House in 2012 because “Americans are ready for someone outside the box.”

All the talk about Palin has the Republican political establishment seeing red. They fear losing control of the nominating process and the whole party spiraling down, sinking into a sea of far-right polarization and the cult of personality around Palin if “Sarah Barracuda” – her nickname as star high school basketball player -- swims into their waters and begins eating up Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and the other current Republican candidates.

Cain has never been in government and Sarah Palin has no ties to DC despite her government experience which is squeaky, honest clean.

Nobody else could have withstood the media search of emails.

She is genuine, trustworthy and honest.

GO SARAH.

Nobody, but nobody gets more miles per soundbite than Sarah Palin. She would not only answer the question, but ding a couple of candidates in the process.

(like getting a full check for being a part time governor)

Thank you for saving me from reading his article.

LOL...I didn't get very far before I aborted ....If Palin declares it will have nothing to do with Christie...and he sure as heck won't get far if he runs, his health will get in the way more than he's prepared to handle.

Still unsure if Palin will go for it Onyx....I'm in if she does but following the debates and candidates as they surface carefully

Have even considered possibility of Newt despite his history....I have grave concerns whoever gets the presidency is going to have to hit the ground running because Obama and his admin will have taken this nation down even further by then. All hands will have to be on deck and prepared to act quickly....Newt could do that... Romney would drop the ball just trying to get it over the net....Perry's going to sell us out to the highest bidder...and Bachmans back at the bottom of the heap again...

I certainly hope he does enter, that could not be more perfect timing for Palin. Christie and Romney would both be fighting for the GOP establishment RINO slice of the vote. I think she can easily and quickly garner the Tea Party and true conservative vote. In a three way race between Palin, Mitt, and Christie, she can scoop the field in the primary.

Rita your whole purpose for being here is to denigrate Palin and pimp for Perry. It isn’t working out for you, but keep trying, I am sure each post just makes the Palin crowd more devoted to her success.

I just pinged you both to a “breaking news” article that I just spotted that siad that Christie is seriously reconsidering...lol. Now just how does he do that after all his NO’s and still maintain credibility?

I don’t care whether he enters or not, but I’m pretty sure Perry and Romney care... a lot.

Palin has said all along that she thought others were considering entering and I think she was referencing Christie.

Yep....the more I see the more I think this is all about stringing the media and democrates along...and it’s working. Makes you wonder who else is going to enter before all these ploys are palyed out.

As Sarah said...”the more the merrier”..she has no fear of any of them.

“I might add, that I think she's anxiously awaiting this idiot question and well prepared to lay into the questioner to fully illuminate precisely how dirty democrat politics actually works. “

And what is going to be her answer to this idiot question? You really think Rick Perry is unaware of how dirty democrat politics can be? You think Newt knows nothing of democrat thug tactics?

Are you're suggesting she's going to stand there and say to Newt Gingrich, Rich Perry and Mitt Romney “you guys just don't know how corrupt those democrats can be”. “I'm sure if you were in the same position that I was in you would've quit too!”

Guys, you are taking this way too personal. I have nothing against Palin. I'm just pointing out she has a problem, a BIG problem with her resignation from office. Let's just say it. She can't explain this and still be a viable candidate. If you listen closely and read her past statements she admits herself this was a political career ending move.

I also read where Nancy Reagan, Henry Kissinger, and GW Bush have joined the fray to convince him to get in. Those are pretty heavy cronies.

OTOH, someone could (and should) ask Perry why he broke his promise to the people of his state (which he emphasized more than once in one debate alone) to NOT run. And she can also point to her 20 years in government with consistent principles. People don’t have to accept Palin’s reason but she did give one. Everyone, Perry included seem to be running away from the question. She can also point to how much she did (it’s amazing even if you don’t support her for president) what she accomplished in a short period of time. And she also can point out since then she has never backed down, never been afraid to take it to the left or the RINO establishment, that she’s also been the lone voice putting herself out there espousing values most of us share. No one has come to her defense, ever, even when she was accused of causing Gabrielle Gifford’s shooting. She campaigned tirelessly during the 2010 election, standing with conservatives who share our values, yet none of them stood with her. That says a lot about her backbone! And if she decides NOT to run you can dang well bet they’ll all be courting her for an endorsement. Lover or hate her, she is a force.

BIG problem with her resignation from office.

That's not even an issue now let alone a "problem"....been raked over the coals so many times it's barely ashes on the ground, which will fly away as heels kick up and the race is on.

I heard that George “Wimpy” Will was so hysterical he was ready to borrow kneepads to beg Christie to run.

Yuk!

That’s a pretty shallow answer and certainly not the one she would give. Palin’s got pretty keen political instincts so I’m sure she weighed this a long time ago.
