Republican strategist Ed Rollins on Monday downplayed the latest surge in rumors that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will jump into the race for the Republican presidential nomination, and instead argued in favor of another possible candidate.
Christie ought to stay running New Jersey, Rollins said on Fox News Kilmeade and Friends radio show.
If I were advising him, I would tell him not to think about [a presidential bid], Rollins said. I cant imagine Gov. Christie spending the next four or five months in the winters of Iowa, traipsing to the places hes got to go in order to be a viable candidate.
Rollins, who was Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-Minn.) campaign manager until early this month, said the only rumored presidential candidate he believes still viable is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Its never too late for Gov. Palin, Rollins said. She plays by different rules.

Well, he's wrong here, too, so that track record is still going strong. There are indeed hard-and-fast deadlines approaching, starting with Florida (10/31) and South Carolina (11/1) filing deadlines. And skipping those primaries pretty much means giving up before starting.
Rollins is a mouthpiece for the establishment/old guard. Any desire on his part to see Palin run has nothing to do with seeing her possibly get elected.
Curious (actually not) that he wouldn’t want another RINO in the race competing with the Myth.
I think that Ed is about to discover what it’s like to be cronically un-employed in the Obamanation........
Cain is one of my favorites, but his gaffes about having no Muslims in his Cabinet, his age and his Health issue (surviving stage four Colon Cancer), will become daily fodder in the Press if he is the Republican Nominee.
Before you ask, I would relish a Palin / Cain Ticket or a Palin / Rubio Ticket. Of the current “announced” Candidates, Cain is my first choice. I had hope for Perry, but his lackluster Debate performance and his reworked GWB “Compassionate Conservative” mantra wore me down. I say that having some Texas friends that know the Governor personally, so I will be on the outs with them I'm sure.
Cain is absolutely the right candidate. The only person to begin the process of fixing our multitude of problems, is a non-politician.
Its never too late for Gov. Palin, Rollins said. She plays by different rules.
There are official filing deadlines, you know.
Let’s just hope that Sarah doesn’t ask Ed “The Kiss of Death” Rollins for help with her campaign........
Ed Rollins is looking for relevance in all the wrong places.
Rollins should fade away and go fishing with his butt buddy, Rove.
“but his gaffes about having no Muslims in his Cabinet”
as opposed to this?

Cain all the way
(((((PING)))))
Hey, Rollins:
STFU, you hack.
Colonel, USAFR
Not quite, Mr. Ed.
If Sarah wants to be on the ballot in South Carolina, she needs to file by November 1st. So technically, November 2nd is too late because S.C. doesn’t play by Sarah’s rules. (I’m sure they don’t even know what her rules are.)
I loathe people who mention Sarah’s name just to get attention.
Yep...we know.
Duh.
Don’t think in the box though...
Sarah can hand pick the states she wants to win or lose.
Wonder if he's angling for a job with Team Palin? What a hoot!
“Yep...we know.”
YOU know but Ed Rollins has been so incompetent lately that I thought he may need the heads up.
You are assuming too much. I believe if you polled us Palin fans on who in the current field we would most likely vote for in the Primary, Cain would be way out in front. We are well aware of Cain, and are even excited about him performing so well at the last debate becoming noticed by the media for a change.
STFU, you hack.

I love it! From a lawyer no less. I can't stand Rollins. I hate him almost as much as Bill Clinton.
Regards,
TS
Rollins is a despicable loose lipped turncoat ho. The fact that Bachmann hired him disqualifies her off the bat, IMO.
