New Poll Shows Obama Approval Slips to Historic Low (36%)
The Hill ^ | Saturday, September 24, 2011 | Justin Sink

Posted on 09/24/2011 6:51:00 AM PDT by kristinn

President Barack Obama's approval ratings have fallen to a new low, with only 36 percent of Americans saying that they approve of the way he is handling his job overall, according to a new poll from the Economist/YouGov. A majority of Americans - 56 percent - disapprove of the president's performance.

Even more concerning for the president may be the news that top Republican candidates have moved within striking distance in head-to-head matchups. Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney trails Obama by just a 44 percent to 43 percent margin, while Texas governor Rick Perry trails 46 percent to 42 percent.

As has been the case in previous polls showing the president's slipping approval, Americans seem frustrated primarily in a souring economy. Only 30 percent of Americans strongly or somewhat approve of the president's handling of the issue. 50 percent of Americans believe that the policies of the Obama Administration have hurt the economy, and 53 percent say that they have hurt the middle class.

The Economist/YouGov poll surveyed 1000 respondents with a margin of error of 3.7 percent.

Funny how they weren’t racist before eh?

Funny how Bummer’s abysmal performance makes them racist.

“...the last thing we need is someone who wants to work with the loons form the left”

Working with the left is always a one way street. It means caving in to their demands. When the left asks for compromise or bipartisanship what they are really saying is “let’s do it our way.” And then, after they get their way, the left and their allies in the media promptly go on the attack against those same naive and stupid Republicans for “not spending enough”. We’ve seen this movie over and over again.

I think they think they can prop Obama by dropping Biden ad putting Hillary on the ticket.

From your SeeBS link:

In November 2008, just before the presidential election, only 20 percent approved of the job he was doing as president - the lowest of any president since Gallup began asking the question in 1938

they have yet another number for the nadir. It was low. It was very low. I’ll go with that.

No need to get arfy, you’re preaching to the choir.

The earlier poster asked a question and I answered it. You stated something that was inaccurate and I corrected it with a source.

You need not try to kill or (besmirtch) the messenger.

LOL, sorry if I came off that way, not what I intended at all. SeeBS said something that was inaccurate, not you.

The watershed moment was delaying his “jobs” bill for weeks after his lily white vacation.

He’ll get at least 43% in any election. The MSM alone is worth about 20%.

Someone else is trying to steal that thunder, though my source may stand corrected;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_third_party_and_independent_presidential_candidates,_2012

Stewart Alexander, Activist and 2008 Socialist Party USA vice-presidential nominee of California

According to a published report, Alexander “says his intentions to seek the presidential nomination (of the SPUSA) is based upon ..... addressing the needs of the working class, creating good paying jobs, protecting human rights, protecting the environment and ending the U.S. occupation in Afghanistan and Iraq.”

"There are too many people living in this country who have lost their grip on reality."

There are too many people permanently ensconced in the permanent "on the dole" mentality.

Obama creates dependents.

kristinn , It appears that eversince to paraphrase George Soros declared that Barak Obama did’nt necessarily have to be the Democratic Canidate in 2012 I have noticed that the Mainstream press is slowly starting to critisize Obama something which hitherto would have been labled politically incorrect . In my opinion , George Bush was the first president to be appointed by the Supreme Court of the U.S.
and Barry Obama became the first president of the U.S. elected out of “ Sheer Political Correctness “ by the entire Main stream press corps who feared being accused of being “ A Racist or Politically incorrect “ . It now appears that the press corps has grown a pair of balls and is beginning to take Barry of of “ LIfe Support “ also known as criticising the President “

50 percent of Americans believe that the policies of the Obama Administration have hurt the economy, and 53 percent say that they have hurt the middle class.

The other half of the population obviously isn't paying attention.
