PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (AP) -- The U.S. shares responsibility with Mexico for confronting the danger posed by international crime rings that ship drugs across the border, a top American general said Friday.
Army Gen. Charles H. Jacoby Jr., head of the U.S. Northern Command, said Mexico isn't just a neighbor but "part of our North American family."

Both are North American but that’s where any resemblance ends.
I consider Central America to start just south of the Rio Grande.
Relatives like that are why I avoid family reunions.
We do NOT have 30 million guest bedrooms.
The general is correct. Mexico is in N America. It also has a responsibility to control drug cartels and its own border. It is a sovereign country.
We’re all Gaia’s children, right General?
What in the hell is a “North American family”??
If I were Mexico, I would be worried. Very worried.
This is the government that moved into Libya without getting approval of Congress because things were in chaos there.
It is also the government has been telling its citizens to think of the government as part of their family. (You know — the mooching, tax-raising part of the family.)
Now they are telling Mexico that Mexico is part of the family. And what does daddy do when the kids misbehave and start shooting each other (with guns that “daddy” let walk south of the border)? Why you have to just step in and *do* something. (It’s a Progressive thing. Look at Woodrow Wilson and Vera Cruz.)
After all, there is an election next year, and you know what they say works to distract attention from domestic problems. . .
Just where the heck do all these PC addled so-called leaders come from????? What a pin-head and embarrassment.
Just wait until Jerome Corsi gets hold of this!
They’re probably praying (in Mexico) that we’ll do just that.
Nahuatl was the language employed by the Aztec civilization when Spanish conqueror Hernan Cortez arrived in the New World in 1519 and has been spoken in Mesoamerica since at least AD 700.
The Nahuatl dialect that was spoken in the Aztec capital city of Tenochititlan (modern day Mexico City) was considered a prestige dialect, and when it was combined with the Latin alphabet, the resulting dialect became known as Classical Nahuatl. While Nahuatl is still spoken, the current version has been so influenced by Spanish throughout the years that no modern day Mexicans speak Classical Nahuatl
Too farfetched. The Mexican government has more influence over the US government than American citizens do - until there is a sea change in D.C. they are 100% safe to continue their narco-state status quo.
“What in the hell is a North American family??”
It is the counterweight to the European Union, and countries like India & China that have a billion people each.
“Why do “Mexicans” speak Spanish instead of Mexican?”
For the same reason Americans speak English instead of American.
No, uh-uh. Americans speak American. English speak a language they invented but can’t speak. Spanish has no correlation to N’ahuatl which was the predominate language of Mexico-Tenochtitlan at the time of Cortez.
