New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is reconsidering his decision not to enter the 2012 presidential race and he says he will let top Republican donors know within days about his plans, Newsmax has learned. During the past few weeks, several leading Republican donors and fundraisers have been urging the popular Republican governor to reconsider his decision not to run and to enter the GOP primary. These Christie supporters note that significant GOP support has remained on the sidelines of the primary fight. Many leading fundraisers have yet to commit to any current primary contender, including frontrunners Rick Perry and Mitt Romney. Newsmax has learned that the effort to draft Christie culminated in a hush-hush powwow held in the past week with Christie and several notable Republican billionaires.

How about a Crist/Christie ticket? It’d be like a RINO Laurel & Hardy.
“Isnt he pro-abortion and gay marriage?”
NO!
“Conservatives are doing more to kill our possible nominees than the Libs. Obama must be laughing his ass off while we find our own candidates weaknesses and beat them over the head with it.”
Agreed. Such people are CWAB (Conservatives Without A Brain)...or else they are liberal trolls.
I’m tired of seeing so much pure ad hominem and childish name-calling. If one has a substantive reason for concern regarding Christie....then post that and a link to some sort of proof. Sheeeeshhhhh....
“Cant get over you guys not understanding vetting candidates.”
Vetting has SUBSTANCE. It’s not merely ad hominem and name-calling (RINO being the most overused name recently). I think many people are wanting a lot MORE substance in judging these candidates.
I know Krauthammer is now considered a subversive tool by some on here, but he nailed it last night. We have to defeat Obama otherwise four more years of this makes our conversion to a socialist democracy like Europe irreversible. We have to take the most conservative candidate who can win.
I like Christie for his fiscal views but his time passed here in the last month. If we aren’t going with a very conservative candidate, the current version of Romney is looking acceptable to me. He appears to be a safe and polished choice who is gaining momentum.
If you could get Rubio on the ticket, a Romney-Rubio ticket would be extremely formidable in the electoral college. We would have a shot at taking PA, MI, WI and maybe a couple east coast states while still keeping the South.
Then you let Paul Ryan and Jim DeMint set the agenda in the House and Senate respectively. Romney would follow along. This scenario could work out ok.
No I voted for him for governor.
If he ran for President he would not win the primary in NJ nor the General.
“And very presidential looking./s Last month he went to hospital with breathing problems.”
Why is this a problem? I don’t think Cheney was in the best of health and he was one NY Times article away from the Presidency.
Christie will not run for President. But he did just throw his hat into the ring for VP. In my humble opinion, Christie or Rubio will be the VP pick. Just a question on which one will help Palin the most.
I’m saying he would be weak in is own state.
Look at his latest job approval numbers for a start.
lol! He will use helicopters and limos.
“You apparently think voting for a labelGOPis more important than principles.”
Straw man.
“not another rino!
lose 150 lbs and get back to us.”
Soooo ...*weight* is now a qualifier for the RINO description?
I posted a link awhile back on this thread showing what kind of gun grabber Christie really was, and still you defend him, and her.
One can be considered conservative if they embrace liberal ideas but write a book?
LOL!
Yep! Four more years of this and we are done.
“I know Krauthammer is now considered a subversive tool by some on here, but he nailed it last night. We have to defeat Obama otherwise four more years of this makes our conversion to a socialist democracy like Europe irreversible.”
Lol! I know.... I have disagreed with Mr. Krauthammer on more than one occasion but I still like him and am always ready to listen to what he has to say.
As for Rubio, I honestly think he’s made himself clear about his intention to get more experience under his belt.
Overall, I remain undecided and I’m praying for our nation. Our problems are far more complex than simply being economic.
I also agree with you regarding the importance of the House and Senate. We definitely need majorities there....and I’m not hearing much about those candidates necessary to accomplish this. We ignore that to our own peril.
OOPS...I missed your point. lol
I was joking about him being appointed, but I didn’t realize you meant he wouldn’t “win” NJ in the presidential primaries.
“I posted a link awhile back on this thread showing what kind of gun grabber Christie really was, and still you defend him, and her.

I have not defended anyone. I simply have objected to the increased verbal attacks on any and all candidates when no substantive proof is given. Regarding Ann Coulter, you presented no reasons for attacking her. And now you allude to her “liberal ideas.” WHAT liberal ideas?
As for Christie’s support for a particular piece of legislation, I would need more information on his reasoning.
