Political logic and election law suggest that anyone hoping to make a serious run for the White House next year will need to be formally in the race by November.
Sarah Palin isn't so sure.
' The former Alaska governor appeared on Sean Hannityâs Fox News show on Tuesday, where she hinted ever so slightly that the current "unconventional" political landscape may allow for a later entry. (At the least, she has already proved that the current landscape has allowed would - be candidates to drag out their decisions much longer than one would expect.)
Here was her response to Hannity's first question about whether she was ready to jump in the race: "There is still time, Sean, and I think on both sides of the aisle youâre going to see people coming and going in this race. ... And I'm still one of those still considering the time factor."

I saw it. Not relevant.
Bravo! It’s the same old crowd.
not relevant?.. are you an idiot?
The Fred Thompson Fan Dance continues. It’s a wonder the suckers still fall for it. It must be love.
Funny, it looks more like "spin shift" from here.
I find it interesting that you go after Palin every chance you get while at the same time saying she doesn’t have a chance, bla, bla, bla.
If she’s “too late” or “doesn’t have a chance” or whatever, why do you care, she’s no threat to you or your candidate - so you tell us.
Also, often anyone you disagree with on Perry you call a liar. Yet here you are saying “Great! We have a new date: Christmas!”. How’s that fit into your standard of “truth”? Hmmm...
Wow, those “debates” are tough... Perry is unfairly being “beat up” you say...
Being President is so much easier I guess...
Palin quit as governor when the going got tough. Being President is so much easier — but she can always just quit that too, when the going gets tough.
What vote.
You whine about “splitting the vote” when there is no vote being taken.
When the primaries come she’ll either be in or out. No splitting of the vote while “sitting on the fence”.
Funny, I thought we were talking about your statement of Perry being “beat up” in the debates, not Palin which isn’t even officially in the race.
And if Palin gets in the race, she’ll have to take the heat on that very subject and we’ll see what happens. That’s how it works. In the mean time you can continue to sob over how tough the debates have been on Perry...
They’re out there getting shredded in the massdebating.
They’re out there getting shredded in the massdebating.
Oh, VERY good!!!
Well done! It’s late ... why am I still up? Because there’s so much great FReeping goin’ on here!
I noticed you didn’t quote the part where HANNITY mentioned November, because you know most people won’t click the link and read the article. They’ll just read the headline and the part you posted.
You need help.
Lib lie.
Quit your whining. Palin’s been beat up on since 2008; isn’t Perry man enough to take it for a few months??
“If she is going to run”
You mean, for the GOP nomination, right?
“Once they commit - that’s it”
Actually, voters are SUPPOSED to make up their minds based on the campaign in September and October - next year.
Events are going to determine the votes on November 6, 2012 - events that haven’t happened yet. If Sarah is able to make the case that she should be elected, she has a whole year before she has to start.
I seem to remember reading last week that there are States that are trying to move their Primary dates around, they have to solidify those by Oct.1st,she may be waiting to see when those Primary dates are to know when the deadline will be
