I can’t get past Perry on this immigration issue.

Yup!....no matter what excuse he uses he invites foreigners in and welcomes the cheap labor force he promises companies he makes his deals with. Further he'll educate their children...you can bet ammnesty will come with Perry

LISTEN UP!

Securing the borders is the responsibility of the federal govt. Not the states.

Wake up!

I think Perry and for that matter Bush feel the same about the border that I do. Specifically, that the Rio Grande is man’s border and not God’s. There but by the grace of God, we were born on the north side of it. We are to be our brother’s keeper. Instead of worrying how to keep them from coming across, we need to work on way’s to destabilize the gangsters that have run that country for centuries.

WTF ever happened to us???

EPA. Even a short stretch of double-fense in San Diego across the infamously named "Smuggler's Gulch" was blocked by years due to environmental regulation and lawsuits. Perry knows this. Perry also knows 1200 miles of the border is a giant river. If you can't patrol a river, you're doing it wrong. Perry's for a fence where useful but using dollars wisely because manpower and intelligence will still be needed and is far more cost effective.

You must be one of those nuts who believe in smaller, less intrusive, CONSTITUTIONAL government.

And, like a lot of people, I don’t agree with his foreign policy views.

I just don’t see the need to slam him and call him name because I don’t agree with him.

Mitt hitting a home run on his rebuttal of Hussein’s first speech to the United Nations...when Hussein threw Israel under the bus.

I imagine most of the candidates will echo what he says...with the exception of Ron Paul and Gary Johnson.

They benefit from an illegal act.

Hell, may as well let the children of bank robbers keep the cash. Same difference.

Why I paid full fee and illegals gets subsidy, I made a mistake should be illegal

Palin’s timing to enter the race will be perfect. When she gets in, the others are going to look very lame (even more than they do now).

WHY SHOULD TAX PAYERS SUBSIDIZE COLLEGE FOR ILLEGALS?!!!.....

Because the federal gov’t refuses to close the border or deport them. What is TX supposed to do with them, let them overwhelm their welfare system living as uneducated 2nd class. These are kids who parents brought them here. It may be the only life they have ever known. They aren’t going to pack up and go to some strange country.

If I heard right, this “in-state” tuition goes for those illegals who are in the system for citizenship, no?
*****************************

as best I understand it and they’ve been in Texas schools for 3 years.

If we can’t remove them because of the Feds, we may as well have them better educated. But then it could be called a draw for illegals, too...so I’m torn.

The issue is being challenged in the courts, Immigration Reform Coalition of Texas v. State of Texas (University of Houston). The lawsuit claims the state laws violated the federal Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, which “prohibits states from providing a postsecondary education benefit to an alien not lawfully present in the United States on the basis of residence unless any U.S. citizen or national is eligible for the same benefit.”

States ought not to be in the business of subsidizing illegal aliens. Every one dollar you make available to an illegal immigrant is one dollar you are not giving to one of your citizens. To grant illegal immigrants in-state tuition rates directly discriminates against non-resident U.S. citizens from surrounding states. That is a direct violation of the equal protection clause.

Do you support sancturary cities if it is the will of the state voters?

Palin - the Brett Favre of politics. Skip training camp and jump in for the regular season. If she’s serious about being a candidate she should be on stage tonight!

“Perry wants boots on the ground and technology to monitor the border. Seriously, how can you build a 1,200 mile fence.”

Please... China did it with a fraction of our current tech many centuries ago. That is an absurd question.

Rush is sounding pretty illogical trying to overlook or minimize Perry’s weakness on illegal immigration.

Perry has some explaining to do IMO as to why he wants illegals to get free education and wants the other states citizens to pay for the full ride.
He doesn’t want to take away illegal incentives to be here and that is my problem with Perry.

Romney on healthcare sucks, he also bothers me as a guy who will say whatever to get elected.

Time for Sarah to enter this race for the good of the country IMO.
