Rick Santorum lambasted Rick Perry as a lightweight on Israel policy Tuesday, dismissing Perry’s speech in New York as boilerplate rhetoric crafted by political handlers.
“I’ve forgotten more about Israel than Rick Perry knows about Israel,” Santorum said during a conversation with POLITICO on Tuesday, while Perry was addressing a rally of people opposed to the Palestinian statehood vote in New York. “There he is, reading a speech, that I’m sure he didn’t write, and has never taken a position on any of this stuff before, and [the media is] taking this guy seriously.”
....He even hit Fox News, his former employer, for lavishing so much attention on Perry: “Fox News is a dog following the squirrel.”
.....“When they say they don’t like the pack, they’re not talking about me,” Santorum said.
He remains confident — and he’s fully grounded in reality in feeling that way.
“I’ll do a blood test and pee in a cup,” he joked.

No Rick - what you are really saying is that you have forgotten more about why Obama should be defeated than you can possibly conjure up about why Rick Perry should be defeated.
You have not made me think less of Perry - just less of you.

I stopped supporting him after watching him as a commentator on FoxNews...he really turned me off. I thought good grief...this was the conservative Senator from PA...in Texas we’d have considered him a liberal...
What’s Rick Santorum’s beef with Perry anyway? It’s not Santorum has a shot at the top spot. Why would he burn his bridges with the front runner? I actually liked him too. Sour grapes, like Bachman.

To think, I was putting together in my mind a Perry/Santorum ticket. No more. I’ll go with the statesmen - Perry/Cain or Perry/Gingrich.

I almost feel embarrassed for Santorum, sort of the way one feels when someone reads a poem they have written which they think is amazing and you have to politely nod while silently laughing. He just looks and sounds pathetic. And how does he KNOW who wrote Perry’s speech, and does he write all his own speeches? Just eeuuww.
It’s a matter of class
Rick Santorum endorsed Arlen Specter because Bush's camp asked him to do it. The man has not been the same since.
Rick Santorum must resent how his political career has ended.
Rick Perry stood up and was his own man. The Bush camp came back for another shot at Gov. Perry in the last (2010) primary for Texas gov. -- Rove and the Bush machine backed Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in the primary and she lost.
