Sure looks like the kenyan is having a bit of a rough time. It will be interesting to see who and when start to jump from the sinking ship first.

Any black politician who dared to stand before an audience of black voters in 2012 and try to convince them to give their votes to someone other than Obama would be risking his very life.

Yes, regardless of denomination, they stand with their Obama. It's a "spiritual thing."

Here’s the quote:

‘”People knew Barack was really bright, they knew Barack was straight, they knew Barack was a different kind of politician.”’

It was USNews, from Sept 1.

Hillary's popularity has followed a predictable pattern going all the way back to the nineties. When she is out of the public eye her popularity rises. When she is actively in the news and especially when she gives a speech or something, her popularity starts to drop.

People somehow like the idea of Hillary, but the reality is hard to swallow.

Clinton would get a lot of support, that's true. But the backlash among Blacks for dumping their boy would be a huge obstacle. They would stay home in droves. Maybe even have some riots to register their dismay. I think the scenario of Obama declining to run or being dumped for Hillary would be indigestible for blacks.

When Clinton saw the republican landslide of 1994 he opined, "The era of big government is over." He was lying of course, but he recognized and acknowledged what the electorate had told him.

When Obama saw the republican landslide of 2010, he scowled and doubled down on his discredited agenda.

Two very different people--I don't think Obama actually allows himself to see that he has become a 170 pound hemorrhoid to his own party.

I think you can assume BillyBoy has a candidate in mind. If not Hillary then someone else. Watch for clues as to who he smiles upon favorably; who benefits from the Clinton aura. You are right, there is someone, either Hillary or someone else. Bill never does anything without a reason-- even merely preening on Sunday morning talk TV has its purpose.

I dont think a lot of people realize the enormous backlash that would occur if Obama was replaced.

Black Americans would not forget or forgive this transgression. It would appear to them as an act of treason by the Democrat Party. They'd stay away from the polls for years to come. I really do not think ( as a few folks on FR have said ) that they'd simply vote for the next Dem candidate regardless of Obama being tossed.

In conversations with Blacks about Obama I am now getting the sense that he is perceived as not being allowed to succeed. That someone, something or some group is blocking his every attempt to fix this country. Any criticism of Obama results in restrained rage to accusations. But many of the people I have spoken to about Obama have no facts or information at all about what Obama has done and not done since his election. Its terribly sad that the support for this man is based solely on the color of his skin.

A drinking buddy of mine whom I have not seen in some time is a hard working family man. The man is a Conservative and doesn't really know it. We'd get into conversations and I'd laugh telling him “ You realize your points are all ones that a Conservative would argue “.

But the last time we spoke he went on at length about how Obama was going to give blacks what they deserve, finally a black president would take care of black people just as the white presidents have been taking care of white people.

I was floored. I could not begin to follow his logic. Nor could he understand how I did not vote for a single Kennedy in my life even though his ancestors and mine came from he same place.

Term limits is one thing we need badly, and will never get.

I don't believe that term limits for Congress critters will ever come about, unless the Tea Party becomes an actual political party and takes over Congress. But maybe an approach that is almost as appealing would work, namely setting up a mandatory retirement age for all members of Congress (the President is already term limited, so no need for one there). Let's face it, most of these people become creatures of Washington after a certain amount of time in D.C., it doesn't matter which party we're talking about. But forcing members of Congress to face the same retirement age as everyone else would be a tough initiative for Congress to be against, particularly now when the political class is largely reviled. In a nation of 300 million people, it is tough to make the case that politicians can't be replaced.

It is notable that the left is unwilling to explore why Obama’s economy is so far in the tank.>>>>>>>>>>>>

Obama and the left have the economy just where they want it....

On the road to destruction of middle class entrepreneurs.American exceptionalism and free enterprise must be destroyed before the National Socialist redistribution of wealth, privilege and class can be realized.....its liberal fascism.

The left have no intention of pressing Obama for an economic recovery. Obama and the left must be destroyed.

Agreed. Obama is a classic narcissist. His mirror reflects only a false, beautiful image. He literally cannot imagine that he is wrong about anything. He will protect his ego at any price. That’s dangerous.

Clinton is far more wily. He will protect his personal success at any price, which sometimes aligned with the good of the country (thanks to the constitution).

I haven't bought into the "Hillary is the popular Democrat alternative to Obama" theory.

Hillary can't escape the taint of the Obama administration. She is his Secretary of State.

She's responsible for the deterioration of relations with England, Israel, and the rest of our allies.

She's responsible for the United States standing by while the Iranian people rose up in protest and were shot down in the streets by their government without a word from ours.

She's responsible for agreeing to let the Lockerbie bomber go free.

She's responsible for how the United States encouraged the "Arab Spring" in Egypt and elsewhere.

How can the Left tell us that Hillary is the only unscathed Democrat who can step in and run in Obama's place?

Nor could he understand how I did not vote for a single Kennedy in my life even though his ancestors and mine came from he same place.

They work on the tribal mentality. They do not understand justice or equality. Everything, including their religions, is distorted based on this world-view. You see it in Central/South America, Africa, and the Middle East. They will never progress as a culture because they cling to their old ways.

I like the idea of “weighted terms” In that in order to win each subsequent term you have to get 5% more votes than the last time. So the first win is majority, the second if 55%, third 60% and so on until you hit a cap of 80%.

If they fail to hit the cap on the re-election they are “primaried out” for the run up election and the election is held again two week after the first one.

Whenever a sitting president has been challenged in his own primary, that party has lost the Presidency.

Ford was challenged by Reagan in ‘76 - Ford won the nomination, but lost the general election.

GHW Bush was challenged by Buchanan in ‘92 - Bush won the nomination, but lost the general.

LBJ was challenged by McCarthy and RFK - dropped out - and, of course, the nominee ended up being Humphrey, who lost big time to Nixon.

Oh, and you can’t forget Teddy Kennedy challenging Carter, who, then lost the general election to Reagan.
