Obama declares 'national emergency' for action on jobs plan

RALEIGH, N.C. — President Barack Obama opened the sixth day of his jobs push Wednesday with a campaign-style rally at North Carolina State University, saying the country is in the midst of a “national emergency” that requires Congress to act swiftly on his $447 billion plan.
Against the backdrop of more negative poll numbers and two special-election losses for Democrats, Obama called on thousands of college students assembled in the steamy Reynolds Coliseum to mobilize behind the plan, a mix of tax cuts and government spending on infrastructure, jobs programs and construction projects.
The 26-minute speech before a crowd of more than 9,000 echoed his remarks in previous days, with a slightly sharper critique of congressional Republicans for suggesting that they don’t want to give Obama a political “win” and pass his proposal.
“I get fed up with that kind of game plan, and we’ve been seeing it for too long. Too long,” Obama said. “We’re in a national emergency. We’ve been grappling with a crisis for three years, and instead of getting folks to rise up above partisanship in a spirit that says we’re all in this together, we got folks who are purposely dividing, purposely thinking just in terms of how does this play out just in terms of this election.”

Obama needs to be careful with that fear inciting Rhetoric. A national emergency is not something that should be stated at a campaign event to try and spin some crappy stimulus plan that won’t stimulate anything but more government spending.

The “national emergency” is the Obama presidency. He can solve this crisis by submitting his resignation and giving Biden a shot. Biden can’t do much worse.

Snazzy headline. There’s just so much interference these old Democrats can take. When Dingle comes out of his coma to say that he sees no problem with Soil-Laundry, you can damn well bet there’s lots wrong and about to be released. Most important is that Dingle wasn’t getting the cut he was promised.
Comrade Barry, is way off the reservation and there seem to be some alligators in the tall grass. I really suspect if he doesn’t stop flailing and stomping his feet one of those old gators with a Capital D is gonna snap and it won’t be pretty. Just watch, who didn’t get a cut of Soil-Laundry and the other White Hut Stimulus scams that are coming to light?

So everyone needs to be declaring that it is, indeed, time to pass the “American Jobs Act”.
