The suddenly intense interest surrounding Turner’s candidacy was on full display Tuesday, when he cast his ballot at a Breezy Point polling station. As he walked outside of a Catholic mass on his way to the polls, Turner was swarmed by a horde of jostling camera crews and reporters. It was a different story for Weprin, who upon his arrival at a Forest Hills senior center was met by a single camera crew and a few print reporters. Weprin, a state assemblyman who does not live in the district, did not vote.

+++++I love it!!!

How do they know that “getting out the vote” isn’t getting more people who are disgusted with the dims?

This is probably working FOR Turner.

Note to dim-bulb-crats...pick a lie (ie, pick any sentence) out of the Obamaloon books, change the name to Weprin and .. . shazam...you’ve got something that’s still a lie, but can be applied to your latest idiot.

After all, your constituents will believe anything. After all, they voted for the Cretin-in-Chief.

Weprin doesn’t live in the district, can’t vote for himself in the district, and apparently has said that he has no plans to move into the district.

I hope the commie ‘RATS spent BIG, BIG bucks trying to defend this seat for der Fuhrer. You can bet that voter fraud was rampant today. I’ll bet the union mobsters from all over the country came out in droves.

I started a thread on the election results. AP is hosting the counts.

It seems to me that the Headline is being used to lessen Republican turnout. If enough people on our side think the Election is already won, turnout will be less than hoped.

I guess we’ll know soon enough...

Party officials say their best hope for winning lies on the shoulders of the vaunted Queens County Democratic Party machine, which kicked into high gear Tuesday. Inside its headquarters — which doubles as the Weprin campaign’s nerve center — get-out-the vote workers rushed to pick up manila folders containing block-by-block layouts of the district; others sat at the phones, methodically working through voter-contact lists.

Still others, canvassed local cemeteries, trunks of abandoned cars, cobweb laced attics, and tree hollows in search of ballot boxes whose content bared Weprin's name on them .....

Let’s not count any chickens yet. It will be a great thing if this gay-marriage supporter goes down. But the voters will have to make it happen. Pray that God gives them wisdom.

Fred Dicker of the NY Post was a guest on Don Imus' radio show this morning. Dicker has covered New York State politics for years, and his take on this special election and the circumstances surrounding David Weprin's selection to run for the Democrats was almost comical.

Apparently Weprin is known in Democratic political circles as a complete hack, and he was selected to run for this seat for two basic reasons: (1) he had a lot of name recognition in the district that would help minimize the need to spend ad money, and (2) he had a safe career in state politics, so he wouldn't have a problem taking a Congressional seat for about a year until the district is gerrymandered out of existence (New York loses two House seats next year, and this is likely to be one of them).

Sounds like they really had an ambitious plan there, eh?

That is awesome! LOL. The sad part is the number of people who will still be voting for Weprin even though they couldn’t pick him out of a line-up, even if their life depended on it.
