Three missing trucks being sought in New York City

As authorities search for three missing trucks in New York City in Washington, Dulles Airport has been partially evacuated after a bomb-sniffing dog alerted authorities Saturday night. A Transportation Security Administration told CNN that a dog sounded the alert when cargo was being loaded into an aircraft. Virginia State Police are on the scene. Explosive teams are at B Concourse area at Dulles investigated a number of canisters but found no explosives or anything harmful. Tonight CNN is reporting that there are three vans missing in New York City, two of which were taken from a company that worked at Ground Zero over a week ago. The third is a U-Haul that was stolen on August 21 from a Jersey City, New Jersey location. The theft of the U-Haul was planned with cut lines to phones and surveillance cameras. This information comes in just days after the White House announced that there is a credible threat from terrorists set for the anniversary of September 11, 2001. The three stolen vans in NYC have been added to the NYPD database because of the threat, still unconfirmed but credible. There are also two missing U-Haul vans in the Washington D.C. area. It is thought that two of three suspects have traveled to the United States in the last week. These subjects speak English and have common names. Police in New York City are on 12-hour shifts and extra personnel have been called in to New York and Washington.

Instead of raising red flags - since they have the money - they could just rent or buy them, possibly from private parties.

The radiation “false” alarm would concern me more. If its a dirty bomb it might already be out of the area.

I dont know. Why would they care if they are going to blow themselves up anyway? No one knows where these vehicles are that’s all that matters to them. This could be nothing... but Im not ruling it out.

How often are uhauls stole in the DC and New York area? Everyday? I doubt it. Anyone have any numbers on this? Besides how often in the theft of a van do you have "The theft of the U-Haul was planned with cut lines to phones and surveillance cameras." Sounds like whoever it was knew what they were doing. And the fact that 2 of the vans have clearance for ground zero since like an awfully big coincidence. Then again all of this could be nothing... Im praying it is.

If you steal a U-Haul on August 21, there’s a lot you can do to disguise it before you need to use it on September 11. It could look like a delivery truck by now.

They also may choose to steal because their names will arouse suspicion at the rental counter.

The two vans stolen from two different DC area U-Hauls on the same day is a big red flag for me.

Ah, but there's the rub - why steal two vans w/Ground Zero clearance for some hare-brained scheme like attacking a WTC ceremony tomorrow, when everyone in the city is looking for them? These animals are big on symbolism - they targeted the WTC, the Pentagon, and apparently the Capitol or WH, because they represent three distinct-yet-intertwined pillars of American power. If - and I'm going out on a limb here - if they were stolen by terrorists intent on using them in an attack, it'll be elsewhere in the city. The symbolism lies in them using against us what they consider to be tools of the American spirit of resilience - the very work vans helping to rebuild what they destroyed ten years ago. The message: we will break the spirit of the infidels by attacking with a symbol of the spirit itself. A form of psychological warfare to add insult to physical injury. It's sort of the way liberals use the intent of the Constitution as a means to destroy it from the inside-out.

Why do you assume they have money? I would think the money system has been blocked in a few links since there is so much speculation right now.

I believe it would be hard to distribute money untraced to many different people.

Diplomatic couriers, illegals crossing the border with cash/gold, wire transfers to CAIR/Rauf/the Ikhwan, and perhaps, the 3 WH advisers. Since Ahmadinejad is in NYC, maybe he and his henchmen/IRGC advance crew brought plenty.

Or perhaps the thief doesn't have a US driver's license. I guess one could rent on a Pakistani or Saudi license, but that would be a huge red flag. With this in the news, one could be sure that the clerk would be calling the FBI in the next minute - and an FBI agent would be looking at the photocopy of the driver's license in another 15 minutes.
